Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish, listening to a delightful cast recording of a musical that I’ll most likely be directing later this year. I cannot tell you what this musical is, however, because I’ve signed an NDA – no one asked me to sign it, I just signed it. In fact, I wrote the NDA, which stands for No Don’t Ask. We all know there are prying eyeballs that read these here notes and you know just as sure as shootin’ that if I mentioned the show someone would suddenly announce they’re doing it. Did you know that shootin’ rhymes with Putin. And hasn’t that dopey person been in the news a little too much lately. Perhaps we should do a new revue called Putin It Together. We don’t allow groaning here at haineshisway.com. Or we could sing Putin on the Ritz? So many possibilities, so little interest. Earlier, I watched a motion picture – I have no idea what the title is anymore and I slept through most of it, which will give you an idea of its originality and worth. I do know it was based on a Tom Clancy book and involves a character from the Jack Ryan books and movies, but I had no idea who the character is even though I think I’ve seen all the Jack Ryan movies. Michael B. Jordan was the star and he was okay, but mostly it’s a no-name cast and a director I’ve never heard of. Okay, it’s called Without Remorse and it had no theatrical distribution – it was bought by Amazon for streaming. The director was an Eyetalian gent named Stefano Sollima, whose daddy was Sergio Sollima, who directed several classic spaghetti westerns along with Eyetalian crime films. The son doesn’t quite have the talent of the father, I’m afraid. Why they handed this to him is anyone’s guess – he’d only made one film in the US prior to this one and that was some inane sequel to Sicario. Anyway, I had a good sleep and saw some of the movie.
Yesterday was yet another day. Not much to talk about, really. I got eight and a half hours of sleep (I was up for an hour at seven-thirty) and once up I answered e-mails, did a few things on the computer, then went and got Taco Bell for food – less than I usually get, but it was good and I hadn’t had it in quite a while. After that, I did a bit of writing, did four listings on eBay just to see how it’s working these days. I’ll list CDs mostly, but maybe some Blu-rays and DVDs, too.
Then I made the attempt to watch the motion picture and ou know the result of THAT. After, I did some stuff and a bit more writing, and then I began listening to the cast album of the show I will probably be directing later in the year, but which I can’t reveal as I’ve signed an NDA (No Don’t Ask) thing. And, here were are.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up and then Marshall Harvey will come here and we’ll go have a meal together and that will be fun, especially as we’ll be going to one of our favorite jernts – I can’t tell you which because I’ve signed an NDA thing. After that, I’ll come home and maybe write but mostly watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I’ll have me a ME day and then next week I really need a modern major miracle or there will be hell toupee. Many things to take care of, I need to order supplies for the helper, and, well, it’s a busy week.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, have a meal with Marshall Harvey, write, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: If you could choose a four-show season of musicals, which would you choose and why? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I shall dream of things I cannot mention, as I’ve signed an NDA thing.
