Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish after a quiet Sunday, finally listening to some music, namely the Paul Horn Quintet play various and sundried songs, prior to Mr. Horn getting into his far out Eastern period, which held and holds no interest for me. This is a nice album with Mr. Horn on flute, voices, the quintet, harp, and percussion. Prior to that, I did watch a motion picture entitled The Accused, starring Jodie Foster and Kelly McGillis. I’ve only seen it once, when it came out and I liked it back then. It holds up pretty well save for some of the clothes and hairstyles. Jodie Foster is excellent and she won a Best Actress Oscar for it, and McGillis is also great. The movie was a big hit and launched Foster’s adult career. I also watched the first two episodes of a documentary about Warner Bros. and it’s first 100 years. It’s what you’d expect – some interesting talking heads and a few not so interesting talking heads, and a superficial go-through of the history of the studio, glossing over a lot of stuff. And I suspect it will get less interesting as we finish out the eighties. And now, I’m listening to some wonderful Peggy Lee recordings.
Yesterday was a Sunday, of that there can be little doubt. I got a little over seven hours of sleep – I was hoping for more, but at least I got the seven. Once up, I answered a few e-mails, did a few things on the computer, and then ordered from Dino’s Pizza, a small pepperoni and their small salad, using a forty percent off coupon. It arrived about forty minutes later and the pizza was thankfully still nice and hot, and it was great, best pizza in LA. The salad was also great, but they didn’t include the extra Eyetalian that I asked for, so I only ate half. That was my food for the day. Then I watched The Accused. After that, I did some futzing and finessing and mostly rearranging and got past the little section I wasn’t happy with and now it’s better and I wrote another four pages.
Then I watched the documentary, after which I wrote another three pages, after straightening out some details I had messed up. So, seven pages for the day and I’m going to up that to ten for this week.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll adjust some of my eBay listings, maybe put up some new ones, I’ll eat, but mostly it will be a writing day. If I can finish ten pages, then by Wednesday I can send a new batch of pages to Muse Margaret. At some point, I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
The rest of the week is more of the same, I’ll have a Zoom session with David Wechter, a couple of meetings and meals, and writing every day. I have to go to an AT&T store to have a discussion about my final wireless bill, and we’ll see how that goes, and do whatever else needs doing.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, adjust eBay listings, eat, write, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite films of Jodie Foster? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have had a quiet Sunday.
