Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish, having spent most of the day and evening writing new pages, almost fifteen of ‘em. I tried, as I have many times, to watch the original Batman movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. I have never been able to get past the first forty minutes. I find everything about it ordinary and forced. A few fun moments in the first forty minutes, but it just all feels off somehow. I don’t even like Jack Nicholson’s performance, frankly. I think I’m done trying to like it. The only other viewing I did was the occasional YouTube video. I listened to no music. So, what the HELL did I do. Well, I’ll tell you.
Yesterday was okay. The best thing was that I got over eleven hours of glorious sleep and felt back to normal. Once up, I answered e-mails, then began futzing and finessing, which took about ninety minutes. I wrote a new page, then went to Gelson’s for food. I got a chicken Caesar salad and also a turkey sandwich for the evening snack. I came home and had the salad, which was very good and filling.
Then I wrote about five new pages and took a needed break. After the needed break I wrote five more needed pages. Then there was a text to deal with which I dealt with by ignoring it. It took me a while to get the end of one sequence right and to get the beginning of the next sequence right, but I think it’s all on the right track.
I tried in vain to watch Batman and Batman tried in vain to watch me. Neither of us won. I ate the sandwich, which was okay at best, then I wrote almost five new pages, after which I said to myself, “Myself, novella my ASS.”
That was about it. No telephonic calls, but an interesting volley of private messages with someone I found on the Facebook. It’s amazing who you find on Facebook and more importantly, HOW you find them.
Then, just as I began writing these here notes, we had the ubiquitous every two-week computer crash. I saw it coming and thankfully “saved” everything in time. It took about twenty minutes to get everything loaded and back to where it was. Whilst that was happening, I took a shower.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll hope for a modern major miracle, I’ll futz and finesse, I’ll write new pages, I’ll check with the mail place and go there if there’s anything to pick up, I’ll eat, I’ll write more new pages, and then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is more of the same, Saturday she of the Evil Eye comes, and I’ll be gone for a few hours, then it’s more writing, and the same goes for Sunday. Monday, I have a lunch meeting about an interesting project, and then I’ll send a new batch of pages to Muse Margaret. At that point, I should be within spitting distance of finishing this thing I’m writing.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, hope for a modern major miracle, futz and finesse, write new pages, check with the mail place, eat, write more new pages, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What Batman films have you liked? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have gotten eleven glorious hours of sleep.
