PIANO PASTA

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish, getting to these here notes late because I had a hankerin’ to sit at the piano and noodle, or as we like to call it, piano pasta. I noodled away for thirty minutes. I just get the urge sometimes. When I get that urge then the urge overtakes me even though I know I must write some damn notes. I believe this is called an “irresistible urge” as taught to me in Anatomy of a Murder. What that means is the urge is so powerful that it makes you act in a certain way, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. In my case, I acted like Jerry Lewis. I have no idea what the HELL I’m talking about, but what else is new – or old, for that or any other matter. Did I watch a motion picture? I tried. Something called Everybody Wins starring Nick Nolte and Debra Winger, written by Arthur Miller. I can’t remember if I’ve seen it and right at this moment in time the haineshisway.com site just went down so I cannot check. I’ve alerted the media and hopefully they’ll fix it shortly or perhaps it will fix itself. In any case, I endured about twenty minutes of this horribly written movie and went back to watching irritating YouTube videos and like clockwork, I fell asleep. I fell asleep like clockwork. Anyway, I didn’t watch a damn movie. I didn’t listen to any damn music. So, what the HELL did I damn do? Let’s find out, shall we?

Yesterday began irritatingly with an irritating text, but I did get eight hours of needed sleep, so that was good and good was that. Once up, I ignored the text, answered e-mails, and then ordered Taco Bell, as they were having a little $5.00 off sale and I had a desire to have their special rolled chicken taco thing again. That arrived and I ate it all up and it was very tasty. Ah, the site may NOT be down because the entire damn Internet is down. I will never understand these things. Maybe they’re doing one of their unannounced maintenance things. Anyway, I did things that needed doing, had a long telephonic conversation and then sent some stuff via e-mail to no avail. Yep, “planned” maintenance. If they know there’s a planned maintenance, then why the HELL don’t they tell their customers about it? They say they’re working to complete it as quickly as possible, but who knows how damn long that will be? I’ll make a post about it from the iPhone. I made a post about it from the iPhone.

Where the HELL was I? Oh yes, yesterday’s comings and goings. I then went and had a rehearsal. That went very well, and we had our author with us, and he professed to be a “happy author.” On the way home I stopped at Rite Aid and got a quart of cherry chocolate chip ice cream. I came home and ate a bit of that, and it was so excellently excellent, and the calorie count is shockingly low, just 130 for a nice scoop of it. I could eat that stuff all day long. And only five bucks. I had a short Zoom meeting with David Wechter. He’s leaving town for two weeks so I’ll continue working on our little project.

Then I did not much of anything except for the piano pasta thing.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll do some work on the project with David Wechter, I’ll eat, probably pasta without the piano, then there’s a run-through of all eight one acts at seven. I’m told ours is the second show in act two. I’ll probably get there at seven to see all of them, but after that I’ll find out how long the first half is and come ten minutes before our show and leave right after it. After that, I’ll come home and watch, listen, and relax.

The rest of the week is more of that, still praying for a VERY necessary modern major miracle, Friday night we’re off so that will be nice, Sunday I’m seeing a show, Sunday night is a dress rehearsal, not that anyone has discussed costumes at all, and then we get ready to open it and also have auditions for 70, Girls, 70.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, do some work on the project with David Wechter, eat, attend a run-through, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, but first a little more piano pasta.
