Well, dear readers, we had our first music rehearsal last evening. I chatted for five minutes before we began, explaining why we wanted to do the show and a bit about the show’s history. They learned four group numbers and sounded really good as they did so. It’s a very strong company. We were there almost three hours. The music is addictively tuneful. As I listened, I got a few ideas about staging. Anyway, music rehearsals are not really my thing, but it was fun to hear our group. Prior to that, I watched nothing and after that I watched nothing. In fact, I can’t even remember yesterday so these may be very short notes. I do remember I got almost eight hours of sleep. I do remember it was Taco Tuesday and I had three tacos from my local good Mexican jernt, probably seven hundred calories or so for the three. I wasn’t in the mood to work on the project with David Wechter, so I just relaxed, watched a few irritating videos, no exterminator came so I sent another text about that, I had not one telephonic conversation, I did a Word update, I shaved, and then it was time to mosey on over to the music rehearsal in Hollywood. You never know what traffic will be like, so I left myself plenty of time, but there was no traffic at all at six o’clock. Very unusual. I got there at six-thirty.
After the rehearsal, I came right home. I thought I could use another four or five hundred calories, so I got a hot pastrami six-inch sandwich from Subway, it arrived quickly and was still hot, and it was actually very tasty. And that, dear readers, is all she wrote.
Dear me, there must be something interesting to write about. Of course, I could tell the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Chiropractor. That one CRACKS me up. We don’t allow groaning here at haineshisway.com. I could print the lyrics to the act two opener, Boom Ditty Boom. That would be thrilling. I could recite the Gettysburg Address – 1712 North Gettysburg, Anytown, USA. I could sing a rousing chorus of Yes, We Have No Bananas. I could show you one of two excellent reviews of The Comedy of Errors musical we did at LACC. Yes, let’s do that.
All right, already, enough vamping. I’m vamped out. If I removed the “m” from vamped, I’d be vaped out.
Today, I’ll be up by eleven, I’ll eat something light, I already registered for my DMV appointment, so that’s taken care of, I’ll hope for some orders, I’ll do whatever needs doing, then we have a rehearsal for the playlet for an hour to put in the actor who’ll now play the remainder of the run, then we have out second musical rehearsal. We’ll review the group numbers, then I’ll let everyone but four people go so we can run several duets with people who have to miss Thursday’s rehearsal. Then I’ll come right home.
Tomorrow is another music rehearsal, back in Hollywood, Friday is off, we have a music rehearsal on Saturday, and I have a couple of meetings and meals.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, eat something light, hope for some orders, do whatever needs doing, have a rehearsal for the playlet, have a music rehearsal, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have had our first music rehearsal.
