THE INSURANCE GAME

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, the notes will be a little late this year, even though spring was not a little late this year. There is a reason for it, however, and the reason is that every six months or so, for reasons known only to them, PayPal changes things and they’ve changed the way we do the buttons that allow you to purchase items. Doug gets VERY frustrated by change, so I had to go into the account, and we walked through it together and I think it’ll be fine now. As soon as he sends me the link, I’ll do a test to make sure it goes into the cart as it should, but I always do that anyway. I think they’re trying to get people to use QR codes, but I don’t want to do that – our customers don’t like that stuff and neither do I. So, here I am, writing these here notes at a frenzied pace with frenzy and alacrity, not necessarily in that order. However, I’m not going to post them until I have the link to purchase Kritzer World, so we can take orders and I hope there are a lot of ‘em. I watched no movie, of course, due to attending our preview of the one-act plays. Ours didn’t go that well last night – it seemed a beat off right from the start, but about a third of the way through it finally started getting its laughs and then it was better. So, when I got home, I sent my final detailed notes and now it’s up to them. They have to have JEF – Joy, Energy, Fun. I arrived at intermission and left right after our show ended. I’d only eaten a chopped Eyetalian salad for lunch, and it wasn’t very large, so I got Taco Bell for a snack – just a taco and one of the new-fangled rolled chicken taco things. I came home and ate that. Then I watched some of the YouTube news things to see the sham that Jim Jordan and his time-wasting committee is involved in. I don’t know how this man has not been ousted and/or censured. This has nothing to do with partisan, he is a complete sham and always has been. He postures, he lies, he brays, and then when he knows the other side is going to call him out on it what does he do, he the CHAIRMAN of the committee? He leaves. Yep, he leaves, as do many of his cronies. It is shameful to watch, and it is a waste of taxpayer money. End of short rant.

Yesterday was certainly a day. I did have the nice few Venmo orders and it’s really easy to transfer those to the bank and it’s instant. I had two pretty good Kritzerland orders, so that was nice. I got about six hours of sleep, which is better than the four I’ve been getting. Once up, I answered e-mails, I ordered the chopped Eyetalian salad from the California Pizza Kitchen, the full version, it arrived and seemed more like the half version, but it was very good. I had lots of telephonic conversations but spent most of the afternoon dealing with my insurance agent for my car insurance through Farmers. Farmers has become outrageous – I am paying more for insurance than anyone I know. And now they want six months in advance instead of taking smaller payments monthly. They do not care that I’ve been with them for a quarter of a century, they have not a shred of loyalty or, for that matter, decency. And so, I went elsewhere and immediately saved $500 a year and frankly I think I should be saving a lot more than that, but I gather all rates that aren’t existing have gone way up. But I can do the monthly payment thing and it went right into effect. I mean, I bought my car in January of 2022 and haven’t even driven 4000 miles yet. I’ve never had a DUI, I haven’t had a ticket (knock wood) in six years, I haven’t had an accident in over a decade. I do think they penalize older people, though. Well, we’re not the ones texting while we drive. Anyway, I changed, it’s done, and Farmers Insurance can kiss my ASS.

After all that, I moseyed on over to the theater, we did our playlet, and I came home, ate the Taco Bell and am still waiting for the link so I can share it. I may have to post the notes and then add it when I get it, before going to bed.

Here is the direct link to order Kritzer World. Don’t delay, now. Smiley face. http://kritzerland.com/kritzer_world.htm

Today, I’ll try to be up by eleven, I’m hoping I can share the book link on Facebook and I’ll send out an eBlast to my folks and I just am hoping that the fans of the Kritzer books will order it. Other than that, I’ll eat something, and I’ll do whatever needs doing. Then it’s opening night. There’s a little party after, so I’ll attend that for a short time. Then I can come home and watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow, we have a casting session for a couple of hours, and not sure what’s happening on the weekend.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, hoping I can share the book link, send out an eBlast to friends, eat, do whatever needs doing, attend an opening night, attend a partay, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: Is your car insurance payment reasonable or unreasonable? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have at least a little cheaper car insurance.
