Well, dear readers, this month is flying by, like a gazelle talking in tongues. And I am sitting here like so much fish, having just had a nice hot shower, starting to write these here notes. Let’s see – did I watch a motion picture last night? No, I did not. Did I listen to music? No, I did not. Did I watch a few slot machine videos? Guilty, as charged. So, what the HELL did I do last night. Well, I slept for ninety minutes, due to only five hours of sleep again. No noise or anything, I just woke up and couldn’t fall back asleep. I hate when that happens. Oh, I answered some damn e-mails, oh, I got a truly irritating text, but I also had a fun e-mail volley with someone who’ll be blurbing the new book. I’m sending it to the blurber without doing the second proofer’s fixes but warned the blurber that there may still be things to fix. But for fun, I proofed the first 250 pages throughout the day and evening and of course found more things to fix, including rewriting a couple of paragraphs because there wasn’t enough clarity. At one, I called the mail place and ascertained that the two important envelopes have arrived, got dressed, and went and picked them up. I then went to the first bank to cash the check I always cash. First time ever there was more than just me in the bank, but thankfully I didn’t have to wait and was out of there in four minutes. I had a bad feeling about Bank of America and I was right. Long lines in Studio City and so I went to the local branch and while the line was much shorter there were only two tellers and of course several customers plan their entire day around the bank and their transactions take forever. My feeling is that they should have a dedicated window for simple, non-business deposits only. That line would move very fast. Anyway, thirty minutes later I was out of there. The problem, of course, is that Monday is a holiday and everyone had to get their banking done today. Then I came home and was ready to order Subway – two wraps, one for lunch, one for dinner, total calories about 900. But as I was about to place the order I realized that they’re charging more for the sandwiches on DoorDash than they are in the store and that got me het up, so instead I ordered two small cheesesteak sandwiches from Charlie’s Cheesesteaks, a chain. I’ve had them before and they’ve been good, but these two sandwiches were less than good and kind of gross. Not making that mistake again, no sir, no how and also no how, no sir. After eating them, I went back to proofing and that was basically it, other than a couple of telephonic conversations.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll send the book to blurber one, I’ll do prep work on the two shows I’m directing, one of which will rehearse next week for a few days (it’s only a three character ten-minute play), I will absolutely have the two Subway sandwiches for food but I will be going to Subway to get them and I don’t care who knows it, I’ll see how David Wechter is doing on his sequences, as I can’t continue until we divvy up the next batch of sequences, I’m told I may have proofer two’s stuff at some point today, and if I do, that’s what I’ll be doing the rest of the day and evening.
Tomorrow will be more of all that, and Monday I ain’t doin’ nuttin’ but havin’ a ME day. Then the rest of the week is rehearsals for Doug’s play – not sure of the schedule yet, but he knows I’m available whenever he schedules them.
Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s all break out the cheese slices and ham chunks, let’s all dance the Hora or the Swim, for today is the birthday of dear reader Ron Pulliam. So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to dear reader Ron Pulliam. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO DEAR READER RON PULLIAM!!!
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, send the book to blurber one, do prep work, have two Subway sandwiches for a total of 900 calories, hopefully get proofer two’s stuff and start entering those fixes. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite sandwiches and foodstuffs from Subway and jernts like Subway, like Jersey Mike’s? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have written notes about what I didn’t do last night.
