Well, dear readers, I finally have the twenty-four-hour Claritin-D and after suffering a bit at rehearsal I popped one thirty minutes ago and it’s already working, whereas the twelve-hour version takes hours to kick in. I’m so tired of feeling tired and these damnable allergies and all I want to do is kick a goat in the ASS and I would if only I could find a goat. Of course, the goat would then probably goat me from here to eternity and hell and back. Why am I talking about a goat? That really gets my goat when I suddenly bring a goat into things. After all, what is a goat but a taog spelled backwards. Well, enough about the damn goat. We had a rehearsal last night – about five people missing – it’s just so hard to do this stuff. I staged the rest of act one, including a musical number, but I still have three other numbers to stage as soon as I have the people to stage them with. I think it will be a really fun show if I ever have the time to get everything right and get the performances and staging where it needs to be. My patience has been worn down and I’m not all that much fun when my patience is worn down – in fact, after rehearsal, I told the cast that and asked them to please be patient with my lack of patience and that as soon as everyone was finally in attendance and we can actually assemble the show, then it will be fun. Those who are in attendance are doing very well.
After rehearsal, I did a quick CVS run for more Pepcid – I don’t know what was up, but I had THE worst heartburn just before rehearsal but was out of Pepcid. I had a 35% off any item so we used it for that and then I had a ten-dollar coupon so it ended up being reasonable. I came home, had some low-fat cottage cheese and here we are.
Yesterday was a really irritating day. I did get eight hours of sleep, but once up the allergies began. I was looking forward to Taco Tuesday but DoorDash forgot about it, so instead I ordered from Daughter’s Deli with a 50% off coupon – the usual pastrami, coleslaw and 1000-Island dressing on rye. It was great. I did some prep work for the rehearsal, I cut four lines that I knew wouldn’t play well today, and then I moseyed on over to the mail place and picked up more Sambucol, and my new checks, as I used the last one I had last Saturday.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, hopefully the allergies will be at bay, I need another modern major miracle and pronto (otnorp, spelled backwards), I’ll prep stuff for the rehearsal and otherwise I’ll just relax. I’ll be at the theater at six to put in the actress who’ll be doing the one-act tomorrow night, then we have our rehearsal. I’m going to stage two of the three numbers we haven’t done, but they’re duets and I’ll keep them simple. That will just leave one number and I’ve already kind of outlined it with the people involved. I’ll eat something at some point and at some point I’ll eat something.
Tomorrow is more of the same and we should have some of our MIA people back with us, whilst a few others will be missing that rehearsal. The conflicts are never-ending. Friday, I have a lunch meeting, but have Friday night off, then we rehearse on Saturday, and I think Sunday, too. I have to get us through act two in three or four days, but it’s a shorter act.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, hopefully the allergies will abate, I’ll put in the actress for Doug’s one-act, and then we’ll have our rehearsal. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I shall dream I’m kicking a goat in the ASS.
