A MIRACULOUS MIRACLE AND HOPEFULLY ON THE MEND

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, with the exception of the tummy issues (rather like a constant cramp), I think the other issues are finally abating, at least that’s the hope. I got very little sleep thanks to the tummy issues, so the first thing I did when I got up the first time was cancel the Do. There’s no way I’ll be ready for that on Sunday and since my tests never arrived, I’d rather play it safe. But I invited everyone for New Year’s Day and so far that response has been good. So, here was my day and evening yesterday. Up for an hour, back to bed for two, up for ten minutes, back to bed for another two hours, and that continued until around nine-thirty. I figured that was the best thing I could do. I haven’t eaten since Thursday at five, but I’m going to try a little oatmeal in a little while. Never watched anything, just kept sleeping. As soon as I post these here notes, back to bed. The good news was that whilst I was asleep a modern major miracle happened, so that was the best news I could have had. And that was it. Nothing else to report. Just that and no more. Oatmeal is on its way to me now (instant kind) along with some other stuff. Sleep, more sleep, and even more sleep.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up and depending on how I’m feeling I’ll either do a repeat of yesterday’s sleep routine or I’ll take a drive to the mail place. I’m hoping I’ll be able to eat something, and I’ll try to have it be something light and preferably with no meat, chicken, or fish. I’ll hopefully be able to watch a few things and hopefully I’ll continue on the mend, including tummy.

Tomorrow would have been the Do, but I may still make some tuna pasta salad and have that and then eat some on Christmas Day. Not sure the Darling Daughter is coming this year – even if she wanted to, I don’t think it’s a good idea. I’ll probably write and organize things for the new book, but mostly I just want to be back to feeling good and chipper. Just had a little coughing spell, but nothing like it’s been, thankfully. I still have little voice, so it’s a good thing I’m not singing the score to Whoop-Up. Monday is Christmas and I’ll just be here by my lonesome. Then the rest of the week will be making notes and doing year-end stuff. Then on Saturday, I’ll do the big shopping for Monday, I’ll get the ubiquitous yearly bottle of Korbel champagne to toast in the New Year and toss out the bottle from last year. And then, as hard as it is to believe, it will be 2024 and I’ll begin writing book 25 and we’ll have our New Year’s Day Do from five to nine. If Dolly Parton was coming, we’d have to have it from nine to five.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, maybe do a repeat of the sleep routine depending on how I’m feeling, maybe take a drive to the mail place, eat, and then hopefully continue on the mend. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite kinds of donuts and pastries? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping to continue to be on the mend and grateful the for modern major miracle being just the miracle I needed.
