Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry, for she of the evil eye will be here all too soon. So, let’s start with the fact that this month is flying by, like a gazelle doing the ghost pepper challenge on TikTok. Last night’s show was fun, and we had over sixty people in attendance – I can’t stress how good that is for this theater on a Friday night. Lots of laughs, some stuff was a bit sloppy for my taste. Karen Staitman was there with her pal Jeremy Sunderland. Hadn’t seen here in a few months. I knew a few others, too. Sound guy game and we fixed mics and stuff just prior to the show. It was the musical director’s birthday, so there was cake after the show and after the show there was cake, not necessarily in that order.
I got about six hours of sleep, got up at nine-thirty and was out the door a little after ten. The garage man came just before I was going to leave, so I let him in the garage, and I went and cashed my check and then took the cash and deposited it. Thankfully, neither bank was busy and the whole rigamarole took barely ten minutes between the two banks. Between the Two Banks – that’s the title of my next novel. After that, I came back home, and the garage guy had finished and was just leaving. He asked me to test it, so rather than the remote, I used the car remote, and it worked perfectly. For food, I had mac and cheese from Marmalade Café. It was very good. Then I relaxed for a bit, did some work on the computer, had some telephonic conversations, and called the mail place only to find the other important envelope wasn’t there – very concerning, because if it’s lost it’s gonna take more than two weeks to get a replacement. Hopefully, it will arrive today.
Then I moseyed on over to the theater, we did our sound check stuff and then we did the show. I got many lovely comments afterwards. I had no birthday cake but do admit to stopping at Fatburger on the way home and getting a cheeseburger with thousand island dressing, and a few onion rings. I came home and ate them – they were fine – and then it was time to write these here notes and here we are.
Today, I’ll be up by eight o’clock and out the door by eight-thirty. I’ll meet Robert Yacko for a breakfast, then I have several errands to do. After that, I’ll come home and sign the books and ready them for the helper. She may come today at three, but more likely will be Monday morning. I’ll also start studying for the written DMV test. I so hate that they make us take it because of age. I think if someone fought that in court they’d win, because it’s clearly ageism. Then I’ll decide if I want to see the show. I’m on the fence about it, so we’ll have to wait and see how I feel. I’m sure I’ll also watch and listen.
Tomorrow, we play a matinee and dear reader Jeanne is coming so I’ll be there, too. Then on Monday it’s cramming for the test, doing whatever needs doing, writing, taking the test, hopefully passing the test and the eye exam, and then it’s my birthday on Friday. We’re not playing shows that weekend, so I’ll be free to do whatever I wish. I do know that I’m being taken to dinner on Sunday night.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty, breakfast, do errands, sign books, write, study, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite kinds of breakfasts? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy that once again the garage door opens.
