Well, dear readers, this year is flying by, like a gazelle doing a double pirouette whilst eating a Chalupa. I am quite full of food, I am, thanks to eating everything is sight at the Do that we did. I should’ve stopped and yet, s per usual at the Do, I did not stop. Even after everyone left, on I went. And now, I am quite disgusting and feel like I should vomit on the ground, only I shan’t. Let’s start with the Do, shall we? Whilst it took a while for the first Doers to arrive, they finally did, starting with Barry and Cindy Pearl. They were followed by Alby Potts and his long-time girlfriend, Marshall Harvey, our very own Amy and Mark, then Kay Cole, and finally Adryan Russ and her ever-lovin’ Dale. So, with me, eleven people, which was just fine by me. No shows were Robert Yacko, who wasn’t feeling up to par, and Lloyd Pederson from 70, Girls, 70, who also wasn’t feeling up to par. Lots of fun conversing, lots of spaghetti eaten, tuna pasta salad consumed, peanut butter pie wolfed down, a dessert concoction of Alby that was quite popular with the populace, and freshly made lemon cookies by Adryan. There was still lots left over after we wrapped the Do at eight-thirty. So, of course, I had to eat two more helpings of the pastas. Then I decided to just clean it all up, so I did the pots and pans, threw out the large amount of pasta left, put the remaining sauce in a Tupperware thing and into the refrigerator, and thirty minutes later, everything was clean so that all the cleaning lady has left to do is clean the counters and floor and stuff.
Prior to the Do, I’d gotten eight and a half hours of good sleep, got up, answered e-mails, and then began futzing and finessing the advance writing I’d done for the new book. Once that was done, I did seven new pages right away. Then I had to prepare the sauce and once that was simmering, I wrote three more pages, after which I got ready, showered, and put on my Do clothing. I then got the water boiling and cooked the pasta and then folks began to finally arrive and the rest you know.
Today, I’ll be up by eight and out the door by nine or earlier. I’m not sure what time the bank opens, but I’m hoping by nine. If not, I’ll do stuff until they do open. I’ll cash a check, then deposit the cash and ATM some other checks. Once all that’s done, I’ll do a few errands and whatnot, and then come back home. Then I’ll futz and finesse yesterday’s writing, then try to do another ten to twelve new pages. I’ll probably have some pasta with sauce, since that doesn’t cost anything. I’ll also catch up on stuff, perhaps put gas in the motor car, then at some point I can watch, listen, and relax.
The rest of the week is more of the same. I have this bad feeling that something is supposed to be happening today, but certainly I’ve gotten no reminders. I’ll continue writing, I have a play to read and comment on, I’m hoping to get a haircut, and I may do a podcast thing on Friday.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight and out the door by nine, do banking, put gas in the motor car, do errands and whatnot, futz and finesse, do ten to twelve new pages, eat, then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What movies and books and TV things do you recommend that you’ve seen recently? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have had a fun and gut-filling raincheck Do.
