WELCOME 2024!!!!!

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I have breaking bombshell news, yes, I do, I really do. This is not clickbait. This is the real deal. So, hold onto your hats, then hold your hats and hallelujah because it is not only January, but also a brand-new year, 2024. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, it is a brand-new year, and it is my fervent hope and prayer that 2024 will be a year filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. And it is also my fervent hope and prayer that January will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. Last night, we had us a fun and rollicking New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Bash right here at haineshisway.com. Booties were shaken but not stirred and there was plentiful merriment and mirth and laughter and legs. We first celebrated the East Coast balls dropping at nine EST. And then again at midnight PST. We shouted Happy New Year to the hilltops and the valleys, to the East to the West to the North and to the South, from the Oaks of Sherman to anyone listening via shortwave radio or longwave streaming. Prior to all that, I had ten hours of lovely sleep with very peculiar dreams. Once up, I answered e-mails, did a few things on the computer, then went over to Gelson’s. I had fourteen dollars in my pocket, and I just made the decision to not spend one cent over that amount. I was thinking about hot dogs but by the time you got all the stuff you’d need it was close to eighteen bucks. So, I decided on tuna sandwiches. I bought a six-pack of onion bagels and a can of tuna and also a small thing of cream cheese. The total came to just under fourteen dollars. But when I put in my rewards number I got five bucks off, so – I still have five bucks in my pocket.

I came home and made two tuna sandwiches, and they were quite good. Then I began getting the home environment ready for this evening’s Do. I also cut and pasted what I’d written so far for the new book into the new book template, so that’s all ready for this morning. I’ve done ten pages thus far. I looked for something to watch, but nothing really jazzed me or even classicaled me. Then I made the tuna pasta salad, after which I sliced and diced and minced. All that took about two hours and for accompaniment I listened to the complete Villa-Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras, all three hours of it. So, everything is ready to start making the sauce. Then we had he East Coast balls dropping hither and thither and yon, I did more getting the home environment ready, I shaved and showered, then I did the contemplation thing, popped the champagne cork and counted down to our balls dropped at midnight. I sipped the champagne and here we are: 2024.

Today, I’ll be up by eleven at the latest, but maybe even by ten, I’ll do whatever needs doing and then as soon as I’m coherent I’ll begin the new book – first I’ll futz and finesse those first ten pages, then try to do another ten or so. At noon, I’ll prepare the spaghetti sauce and then that will simmer until it’s ready to serve. I’ll make the pasta at four-twenty so it’s ready for the first arrivals. It’ll be nice to have a few lovely folks over to celebrate. I have no idea how few or how many there’ll be. That will go from five to nine, then I’ll clean up, maybe write a few more pages, then I have to get to bed because she of the Evil Eye is now coming tomorrow morning as she’s then going out of town for over two weeks.

Tomorrow, I’ll be up by eight and then I’ll go had a light breakfast, then do banking, then I’ll come home and write. And the rest of the week is more of the same – writing, catching up on stuff, and doing whatever needs doing.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten or eleven at the latest, do whatever needs doing, begin writing a new book, prepare the spaghetti sauce, write more pages, make the pasta, then from five to nine have a lovely raincheck Do, after which I’ll clean up, maybe write a bit more, and that will be that. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your hopes for 2024? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, as we say a boisterous and beautiful WELCOME to 2024!!!!!
