Well, dear readers, I just had a very good chili cheese dog – I was really craving one and I got the order in just before this jernt called Dog Haus closed. I’d eaten a nice meal earlier, faux chicken stroganoff, but with only about half a chicken breast, if that. So, I got hungry. Hope I don’t regret the late-night snack, but I have to say it really hit the spot, after which the spot hit it back. I also managed to watch a motion picture – well, an HBO thing from 1996 starring James Garner as a hostage negotiator. It was called Dead Silence and since James Garner can do little wrong, I enjoyed it. It has one twist too many and the final one is so silly I’m surprised they didn’t fix it in a rewrite. Nothing great or original and, as mentioned, the twists are rather silly. Marlee Matlin is in it, too, and she’s wonderful. Other than that, I got nine hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, futzed and finessed adding s few more pages and then writing a new page before going to the bank for a quick ATM deposit and then to Gelson’s to get the stuff for faux chicken stroganoff. I came home, made it and ate it, then went back to writing. I wrote five new pages, then realized I needed to go back to an earlier section, and I ended up adding four new pages there. If I do two more before bed, that will be twelve for the day, I think, and since I did close to sixteen the day before, that’s just fine. I did find a phrase I liked that I’ll use throughout the book that helps tie things together. I had a nice telephonic conversation with dear reader Jeanne, who’s enjoying her new wi-fi. That was pretty much it – just a good day of writing, watching a movie, eating a meal and having a snack and then writing these here notes.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll futz and finesse after which I’ll finesse and futz and write some new pages, then I really must go to the mail place to pick up the little package that’s there. Then I’ll figure out what the day’s food will be and I’ll either go somewhere to have a meal or I’ll bring something back here. Then I’ll write more new pages, after which I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow will be a writing day and then on Monday morning after futzing and finessing, off the first ninety to one hundred pages will go to Muse Margaret. I’m hoping for a modern major miracle or two, I know I have a meeting and meal or two next week, and David Wechter and I will get back to work on our script.
I’m hoping that many of you dear readers will join us on Monday at 5:00 PST/8:00 EST or whatever time zone you’re in, for our Q&A. Think of some fun questions. We can talk about Kritzer World, Preview Harvey, or any of the other books. I’ll have the Zoom link in Monday’s notes. I’ll put it on Facebook, too, and hope we get some folks from there. The more, the merrier and the merrier the more.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, futz and finesse, write new pages, go to the mail place, eat, write more new pages and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite films of James Garner? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping I don’t regret having a late night dog.
