Well, dear readers, we had us the ubiquitous every two-week computer freeze, so that’s always irritating. Of course, one has to manually shut it down, then reboot – that went faster than it usually does, so that was good. Thankfully, everything was saved, and I wasn’t working on the book at the time, I was getting ready to write these here notes. We had a mostly rainy day yesterday. I never actually left the house, but that’s because I didn’t get up until three in the afternoon, but that’s because I didn’t get to sleep until seven in the morning, but that’s because I had a rough night in Jericho – too many onions was the culprit, I think. Anyway, I did get eight hours of needed sleep, so that was nice. Once up, I answered e-mails, then began futzing and finessing. I knew that in addition to smoothing out the writing I’d done, that I’d be adding six or seven or more pages throughout that section, and that’s what I did. I’m intending to write three or four more pages once I post these here notes, and that will bring the day’s total to twelve, which is fine. I think once I’m beyond this little section I’m in, I’ll be able to go a little faster if I feel like it. At this point, I have no idea how short or long this book will be. Then I made hot dogs for food and I must say they were really, really, really good. Not enough food for an entire day, so later I had one Chalupa supreme and the veggie Mexican pizza from Taco Bell, and both were good. I had a lovely call from Muse Margaret, who got the copy of Kritzer World I sent her. She loves the cover and loves what I wrote about her. While I’d discussed a few possibilities for this year’s book, the one I’m doing wasn’t amongst them, so I told her and she absolutely loves the idea of doing it and feels it’s the right book to do for number twenty-five, so that was very nice to hear. I also had a long telephonic call with Doug Haverty, who’ll finally be back from Florida on Monday. I wrote throughout the afternoon and evening. At some point, I sat on my couch like so much fish, and watched the credits of some Monogram cheapie The Shadow movie from 1945 but before I could shut it off, I fell asleep for an hour. Once up, I wrote two more new pages, then got ready to write these here notes, when the ubiquitous every two-week computer freeze happened, so I got everything back up and working and here we are.
Today, I’ll be trying to deal with a lousy e-mail I got, very unpleasant, but we’ll see how that all goes. I’ll try to be up by ten-thirty at the latest, I’ll futz and finesse then write new pages and I’m thinking that today I might have some pasta with the remaining spaghetti sauce, which is in the fridge and I’m sure it’s still fine. If not, then I’m going to have to toss the sauce, which is also the title of my next novel, a novel of anarchy and revolt, not necessarily in that order. I’ll probably go to the mail place to pick up the little package that’s there. Then I’ll write more pages, then at some point, I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is more of the same, and I’m sure the weekend will be, too. I might like to go have a nice meal out somewhere, so we’ll see if we can make that happen. Next week we must have a modern major miracle or three or there will be hell toupee.
Based on everyone’s wacko schedule it’s looking like early Monday evening might work for the Q&A? Let’s see if we can get a quorum on the forum.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, deal with a lousy e-mail, try to be up by ten-thirty, futz and finesse, write new pages, maybe have pasta with the sauce in the fridge, go to the mail place, write more pages, then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What foods and spices can you no longer eat that your digestive system can no longer handle? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping we don’t have another rough night in Jericho.
