Well, dear readers, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I used to write these here notes in two parts. I don’t really know how long I did that for but it was a suggestion of Mark Bakalor, who created this site originally. Actually, I have the last thing I wrote when we did this in two parts and it looks to me like it would have to be 2012, which is very surprising to me. Read this and see what you think. It appears we were migrating to our new host, we were doing Kritzerland on Sunday, which means we were either at Vitello’s or The Federal in 2012. Other than that, not much has changed in the last twelve years.
“Today, the migration will hopefully continue apace – I will call the tech guy in the morning to see how we’re doing. I have to be up early and I have to jog by eight-thirty, because our rehearsal begins at ten-thirty. That will last about two-and-a-half hours, after which I shall go eat something light but amusing. I’ll hopefully pick up some packages, I’ll pay a couple of bills, and that will be that. Otherwise, I’ll keep refreshing my browser and hoping to see both the new site and the new discussion board as soon as possible.
Tomorrow, I may or may not have a dinner to go to, and then Saturday is our stumble-through, Sunday is sound check and show, and Monday I start prepping the July show.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a jog, check with the tech guy to see how we’re doing, rehearse, eat, hopefully pick up some packages and hope the migration is proceeding smoothly and quickly. Today’s topic of discussion: None. Obviously, tomorrow’s notes will also be written on both old and new sites and that will hopefully be the last time I need to do that. Can’t wait for us all to be in our two new homes.”
Found it – May 20, 2013, we migrated. Much later than I’d imagined. I seem to have gone off on a tangent. Don’t I have notes to write. Shouldn’t they be posted already? I watched a bit more of Citizen Kane but was too antsy to finish it. I only got five or six hours of sleep. In bed at two-thirty, up at five for an hour, in bed at six, up at seven-forty-five, in bed at ten-thirty, up at one-forty. I answered a ton of e-mails, then began reading through the designed book. Of course, I’m still finding typos, I’m smoothing out a few awkwardly written sentences, and I’ve added a couple of brief things after running them by Muse Margaret. I’m going slowly – if I make a change, I have to be sure to change it on the manuscript, too, since that’s what they’ll be using. Got another nice review for Kritzer World – don’t know who from. I made Wacky Noodles for food and that was good. Later, I got a piece of cherry pie – not great. Really needed ice cream. Had a couple of telephonic conversations and spent some time looking for a couple of TV shows that Kay Cole did when she was a kid. I found two movies she’s in but she’s really little more than an extra in those. I found an episode of Loretta Young that she’s in – no lines though, I think. But I found a Jim Bowie episode in which she has a prominent part – I sent all those links to her. I’m about 110 pages into re-proofing/reading through the book. We have one ask out for a blurb but I think we would have heard already if the person wanted to do it. I have a couple of other ideas and I’ll probably reach out to those folks soon.
Today, I’ll be up by eleven, I’ll shave and shower, then do the interview about The Faculty at one. After that, I’ll go out and pick something up to bring back – not sure what yet. Then I’ll continue re-proofing/reading through the book. At some point, I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
The rest of the week is more of that, plus writing, plus perhaps a meeting and meal somewhere fun, and I have to do a few other things that need doing and my goodness we do need a modern major miracle or two or there will be HELL toupee.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eleven, shave and shower, do an interview, go out and get something to eat, eat, continue through the book, then I can watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite films of Mr. Orson Welles? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, fascinated that we migrated so late and that I wrote the notes in two parts until 2013.
