Well, dear readers, sleep BK is alert enough to write these here damn notes and that is exactly what sleepy-but-alert BK is doing, in case you haven’t noticed. I’ve noticed, but then again, I’m writing these here damn notes. It won’t take long to cover yesterday’s doings and comings and goings, oh, no, it won’t take long. You will understand the why of it very soon. Other than a few irritating YouTube videos I did not watch a motion picture or anything else. You will understand the why of it very soon. As I write these here damn notes, playing in the background is Alex North’s brilliant score to the motion picture version of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. I, frankly, was never afraid of Virginia Woolf, but I was afraid of Rondo Hatton, but that’s another story. I once had a Rondo Hatton t-shirt made, but that’s another story. Where is that damn Rondo Hatton t-shirt now? That is a question for the ages. Where was I? Oh yes, Alex North’s brilliant score for Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, the re-recording done by Jerry Goldsmith. The original has dialogue stuck to most of the tracks. Anyway, I watched no motion picture, therefore cannot offer pithy thoughts on what I didn’t watch. You will understand the why of it very soon. Well, let’s go back to the beginning, a very good place to start. I got not quite four hours of sleep, arising at ten-thirty. Once up, I answered a few e-mails, then had a telephonic meeting at eleven – that went very well. After that, I moseyed on over to the mail place and picked up a small package but no important envelopes. But they’d just started sorting the mail so they may well have been there. I’ll check this morning and go over there if they’re there their (sorry, just wanted to use all three forms of they’re/there/their – one simply must). Then I came home, really zonked from lack of sleep. I ordered fried catfish from the local jernt – it arrived at two and consisted of two small filets, a tiny amount of lobster mac-and-cheese, and yams – great, as always from that particular jernt. Then at three o’clock I sat on my couch like so much fish, turned on the TV, went to the Tube of You, selected an irritating video to watch, and at approximately 3:02 I was out like a light. I woke up a couple of times briefly, then fell right back asleep. I finally awoke for good at – 9:10. That is why it didn’t take long to cover the events of the day and evening – there were none.
I then ordered a half-size chopped Eyetalian salad from California Pizza Kitchen. That arrived and I ate it all up – just the right size and I had a tiny bit of pasta in butter and cheese as a side dish, which I gave a side eye to. And here we are.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll check with the mail place and if any of the important envelopes are there, I’ll go pick them up. I’d like to do something light for food, and then I’ll have a proper ME day because one must have a proper me day every now and then.
This week will be light due to the July 4 holiday – hey, wait a damn minute here. How can this be the final day of June when June just began? And tomorrow will be July, and it is my fervent hope and prayer that July will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. Anyway, it should be a light week. I’ll have a work session with David Wechter for the project we’re currently working on but other than that and finalizing the August Kritzerland cast, it will be a nice, restful week. I have no plans for July 4, but we’ll see what happens. I usually just stay in then walk outside to see if I can see any fireworks.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, check with the mail place and if envelopes are there go gather them up, eat, have a proper ME day, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping to not be such a sleepy BK this week.
