Well, dear readers, it is late and I must write these here notes in a hurry due to having a long, involved, and somewhat irritating telephonic call about a project we were going to do early next year that we now will not be doing. So, I have to come up with a replacement project, which is fine as long as I find one that I love. Not as easy as it sounds, but we’ll see how it goes. However, that’s for another day. This day is today and today is a day for a band to play because today is July fourth aka Independence Day, a day of fireworks and festivities, with many people watching the movie version of 1776, eating barbecue – wieners, burgers, and the like – and partying until the cows come home. But we’re getting a head of ourselves, oh, yes, we’re getting ahead of ourselves but not for long because yesterday was one of THOSE days and THOSE days have to change, which means I have to get back onto a schedule that makes sense. I blame all this on the pandemic, when I began staying up until three, four, and five in the morning and sleeping until two because, well, what else was there to do? I’ve tried to adjust back to the way things were but haven’t been successful enough, clearly. And now, it’s even later because I suddenly got an idea for a project that would tickle me. Anyway, I did manage to watch half a motion picture last night from 2016 entitled The Comedian, which I’d never heard of. It stars Robert De Niro, Leslie Mann, Danny Devito, Patti LuPone, and lots of well-known comics, and it’s directed by Taylor Hackford, who hasn’t made a movie since. It’s quite bad, thus far – bad script, obnoxious lead character, a bunch of comedy routines that aren’t funny. I’ll finish it today. It got horrible reviews and died a quick death, just like most of the jokes in the movie. Otherwise, it was a day of sleep. I was up ninety minutes after I went to bed, stayed up for two hours, then went back to bed and slept until one-thirty. I just don’t want to do that anymore. I did get something approximating eight hours of sleep, I had my pasta dish from the Cheesecake Factory, the lunch-sized portion, ate that when it arrived, did a few things on the computer, then sat on my couch like so much fish and immediately fell asleep for two hours, when the telephone rang. That was five-thirty. I had a brief conversation, then plopped down in the bed and fell asleep for another ninety minutes. See what I mean? Ridic. Then I watched part of the movie and here we are, late as can be with these here notes, which should have been up an hour ago.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll go look for something in the garage and hope I find it without too much trouble, I’ll order some food at some point, perhaps some barbecue, perhaps not, I’ll be festive and gay, and then if there are any to see from here, I’ll view some fireworks. The one thing I won’t do is leave the home environment, unless I decide to go to Gelson’s for food. And I’m sure I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow and the weekend can all be ME days, although I do want to start choosing the songs for the August Kritzerland. Then next week there’ll be quite a bit to do.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, look for something in the garage, order some food or go out and get something, eat, be festive and gay, view fireworks if there are any to view, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are you doing and eating for the fourth of July? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, wishing everyone a safe and festive fourth of July.
