Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish, not listening to music, having not watched a motion picture, having not done much of anything last evening. We did have us a doozy of a computer scare when, whilst in the middle of doing something on the Internet, the screen went black for no reason (not like the usual computer freeze that happens every two weeks), and then it restarted out of the blue without me doing anything. When the welcome screen came up to type in my password, the blue tooth trackpad wouldn’t work, nor would the keyboard. I had to finally plug both into the back of the computer and finally the thing booted up. But nothing I did could get the trackpad and keyboard to work – they simply were not being recognized by the blue tooth. At this point, I wanted to put my fist through the computer screen, but instead I just did a restart. As soon as the welcome screen came on, the trackpad and keyboard worked fine wirelessly, so that was good. Everything else finally came up and I was back in business. But that stuff is truly scary. I really am going to have to get a new computer soon. Other than that, Friday was an okay day with one highlight and no real lowlights other than the computer thing. I ultimately got about seven hours of not consecutive sleep, got up at eleven-thirty, answered a lot of e-mails, got dressed, and then moseyed on over to the ATM to make a little deposit, then I moseyed on over to the mail place, where I picked up three count them three packages – one containing the newly beautified softcover of Benjamin Kritzer, one containing the newly beautified hardcover of Benjamin Kritzer, both finally looking like a real book at long last – it’s astonishing to do a side by side with the old one, which is now officially out of print and since I fixed a few text things, perhaps someday it will be rare as hen’s teeth and we all know how rare hen’s teeth are. The third package contained shampoo (oopmahs, spelled backwards). I then came home and food arrived shortly thereafter, another meal from Crustacean using a 50% off coupon – this time, their crab garlic fried rice. It was simply wonderful, but more like a side dish than a main course, just like the garlic noodles and prawns – you know, kind of a starter thing. After that, I confess to watching some irritating YouTube videos, the computer thing happened, after which I sat on my couch like so much fish and watched some short videos that weren’t irritating – you know, clips of Broadway shows, that sort of thing. I was just too antsy to settle in with a movie. And here we are.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do some errands and whatnot, but basically it will be a ME day. I may go sit and have a meal somewhere, or I’ll bring something in – don’t think I’ll have a delivery today. I’ll do a little writing, but mostly I’m just gonna watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I’ll be attending a matinee of a musical entitled Snoopy, that features our musical director John Sawoski’s daughter. It’s on the other side of the hill, the side I grew up on. After the show, I may find somewhere fun to eat before coming home, or I’ll come back to the Valley and eat here. Then next week is very busy with all manner of things, including a work session for the Kritzerland show. There should be a couple of meetings and meals along the way, too.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do some errands and whatnot, have a ME day, maybe eat out or bring something in but no delivery, do a bit of writing, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are your favorite seafood dishes and where have you had your best seafood meals? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy that the newly beautified Benjamin Kritzer books arrived and look so lovely.
