Well, dear readers, I am sitting here like so much fish, listening to Andre Previn and his orchestra play movie themes even though I watched no movies. Has anyone noticed it’s Friday? Hopefully, we won’t have a replay of yesterday morning or will truly be a freaky Friday. Yesterday morning was so frustrating and irritating, dealing with United Health Care for three HOURS, not having them switch me to someone in the United States, and so dealing with people in the Philippines who are hard to understand and who don’t necessarily know what they’re doing. It seems the PCP I had isn’t actually with United Health anymore, so for three months I’ve assumed I had a PCP when I didn’t. I wanted to make my ophthalmologist appointment, but my PCP had no record of me in the system. I assumed that when they assigned her to me that they’d be sent my information. They never told me I had to call and make an appointment and go in for a meeting. After an hour of misunderstandings and inteptitude I got yet another gal in the Philippines and after she finally understood things, she called my PCP, which is when she found out that if I went there that doctor didn’t take United Health Care. I almost exploded. So, she tried calling another couple of local doctors but got no one. I finally had to get off the phone when my food arrived, and she promised she’d call me back. Of course, I never heard from her. So, a friend came over and got me to the Cedars website and their recommendations for doctors to be my PCP – we found one just down the street, so the suggestion was simply for ME to call the doctor directly, make sure they’ll take me, then I’ll contact United Health and just tell them I have my PCP and to send me a new card immediately. Then I’ll book an appointment with the new person and go in and give them all my information and whatever else they need. Then she can send the referral for the ophthalmologist, who we already know is is okay with United Health Care. Then I can book that appointment and then the surgery. It should be easier than all that BS. But I’ve heard that I’m certainly not the only one who goes through this with them. Prior to that, we’d had a lovely and not-so-little earthquake at 7:28 – a roller with a big jolt at the end. Thankfully, nothing fell over or even moved. After the three hours of nothingness, I had the same food as the day before – one chicken breast and wing, and a thing of chicken pasta salad. Then we had our rehearsal. Same order as Tuesday’s. Everyone is really solid on their material and doing great and we added Bruce Vilanch to the mix and he’s going to be hilarious. Ticket sales are apparently light, so we’re all doing a big push over the next few days so we can get the total up to a reasonable level.
We finished at six, then I just had to rest my voice, which really didn’t need the strain of a three-hour call. Ridic. I got some chicken noodle soup and some potato salad from Mel’s Diner and that was very soothing (the soup). I watched a few YouTube things and here we are.
Today, I’ll be up by ten, I’ll call the PCP doctor and see what’s what, then if all goes well I’ll get hold of someone from United Health Care, get a new card, and we should be set, then I have to go to the framers for some plexiglass, then I’ll eat something very light, I’ll go see what’s what at the mail place, I’ll come home, finesse commentary, which I haven’t had time to do, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is something or maybe there isn’t anything – can’t remember – I’ll have to check yesterday’s notes to make sure – Sunday is a ME day, Monday is our stumble-through, Tuesday is a ME day, and then Wednesday is soundcheck and show.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten, call a doctor and hopefully call United Health Care and get everything settled there, go to the framers, eat, go to the mail place, come home, finesse commentary, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray/streaming player? I’ll start – CD, Andre Previn conducting. Streaming – I’ll find something fun. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping we have no repeat of earthquake in Sensurround.
