Well, dear readers, at approximately two-thirty yesterday, I do believe I finished a book. I really finished at one o’clock, but then didn’t like the last three or four pages so I rewrote them completely and it’s better now. I’ll be sending the final batch of pages to Muse Margaret as soon as I reread the last ten pages and make sure I’m okay with them. There are currently 52,792 words and 270 manuscript pages. It’s always a weird feeling when all you’ve been doing for eighteen days is writing fifteen pages a day to finally finish because you’re in the writing mode and suddenly you’re not having to do pages in the evening. Anyway, it’s done and if I need to make any adjustments, that’s the next step. I did make a few changes during the writing that requires me to go back and make sure the changes are reflected everywhere they need to be. That was the best part of yesterday. I only got six hours of sleep and I mostly wrote until I was done and then futzed and finessed. For food, I had a good grilled cheese and bacon sandwich and potato salad. Then I shaved and moseyed on over to a birthday partay. I was rather surprised at how few people I know. I mingled for about forty minutes, then I left, did a quick ATM stop, a quick Gelson’s stop, and then I came home. I tried my damndest to find something I felt like watching, but I just wasn’t feeling it, so I did other things. My legs (knees mostly) were pretty sore as was my elbow. Have I mentioned that I finished the book, book number 26, by the way. Several of you asked if I could post a couple of photos of the Nudie Musical lobby cards. Here’s one now.
And here’s another one.
Aren’t those fun? At long last lobby cards. Who knew? I did a few things on the computer, and I kept almost dozing off.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll give the final twenty pages one more go and then off they’ll go to Muse Margaret – she’s getting a total of about sixty pages. Then I’ll decide about doing a celebratory dinner. I’d like to.
Tomorrow, I’ll be up early and leave around eight-thirty for an appointment with another eye specialist, who’ll do some tests that the other specialist couldn’t do. After that, I’ll come home briefly, then it’s more auditions, then on Tuesday evening we have callbacks. Hopefully, we’ll be able to cast everything, but if we can’t, I’ll just reach out to friends. Then I’m hoping I can have a few ME days before I start the prep work for Drat! The Cat!
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do a tiny bit more futzing and finessing then send Muse Margaret the final patch of pages, then I’ll decide if we’ll have a celebratory dinner – if not tonight, them tomorrow night for sure – and then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, so happy for finishing the book 26.
