Well, dear readers, what if Stephen Sondheim had written these here notes? It might go something like this.
Into the notes,
Today I wish,
That we could say
“What is it, fish?
Into the notes to dish the dish,
And I don’t care who knows it.
Or maybe this.
Attend the tale of BK’s Notes,
Where every day they’re shoved down our throats.
The Randy Vicar whose tales are told,
Are tired and ancient and they’re growing mold.
The same old jokes here every day,
Yes, that’s BK
The weird purveyor of drivel.
That Sondheim, what a cut-up. Before I go further, I did finish a motion picture entitle Anna, written and directed by Luc Besson. He’s made this movie many times already, so we know what to expect, but for whatever reasons, I usually enjoy his films, starting with La Femme Nikita, Leon, The Professional, Angel-A, Lucy, and a few others, my favorite being Leon, The Professional. He’s clearly having fun with Anna and the whole Five Weeks Earlier, Three Weeks Later cliches, and they’re really well used here to always be fracturing the timeline. If you like these sorts of things, I think you’ll enjoy it. Otherwise, yesterday was a little frustrating. I’d stayed up later than I should have, so that I got fifteen pages done, so I didn’t get up until just before noon after eight hours of sleep. Once up, I had a ton of e-mails and a couple of texts to deal with, then I began futzing and finessing, which took almost three HOURS due to making a couple of changes that required some research. I didn’t finish that until three. So, I let Muse Margaret know that the new batch of pages wouldn’t be coming until today. I ordered penne pasta and a meatball in pink sauce from Maria’s Kitchen, it arrived pretty quickly, and I ate it all up – very good. I wrote some new pages, decided to make a slight location change that required yet more research, but it worked much better than my original choice, I had some telephonic conversations, wrote more pages – ten pages before starting these here notes and I’m to hopefully write five more before bed – and here we are.
Today, I’ll be up between ten and eleven, I’ll futz and finesse and send the new batch of pages to Muse Margaret, then I’ll write some new pages, and after that I have to meet one of two set designer possibilities at the theater, this one recommended by Tesshi, my favorite set designer. Looking forward to hearing whatever ideas she has. I’ll come right home after that, write more pages, eat, write more pages, and then watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is more writing, and then at five I’ll meet with the second set designer possibility, then I’ll go eat something, then we have our second casting session at eight. Friday will be an all-day, all-night writing day, Saturday will be more of the same and then I have a birthday party to attend, and Sunday is unknown and depends on whether I’ve finished the book.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up between ten and eleven, futz and finesse, send the new batch of pages to Muse Margaret, write new pages, meet with a set designer, write more new pages, eat, write more new pages, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy that Mr. Stephen Sondheim wrote the opening of these here notes.
