Well, dear readers, the holiday weekend has come to an end and I am sitting here like so much fish, listening to critic David Hurwitz pontificate about the Mitropoulos box set – of course, you got the real lowdown right here at haineshisway.com with no pontificating. I was curious to see his take on the box, but after five minutes of listening to his grating voice and his pontificating, I will soon have to shut the damn thing off. Prior to that, I wrote the entirety of the commentary for Friday’s Kritzerland show, so that’s done and out of the way. Prior to that, I watched another Stalked by My Doctor Lifetime movie, this one entitled, Stalked by My Doctor: The Return. The camp aspects are even higher in this one and of course by this third movie you know every single thing the writer/director is going to do. This guy lucked into this Lifetime gig and I’m guessing that once you’re in that stable you can live your entire life doing those films. Eric Roberts, unfortunately, is forced to simply play variations on the same scene in all these movies. The teen girl in this one is fine, but dear director can you not hire extras who play cops to not look like extras who know nothing about how a cop would behave? How hard would that be? Anyway, this one wasn’t as much fun as the first two. There are two more, but you have to pay for them – that won’t be happening.
In other news, has anyone noticed that today is the final day of May? How did that happen? This months has REALLY flown by, like a gazelle with monkeypox. And tomorrow, June will be bustin’ out all over and it is my fervent hope and prayer that June will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful.
Yesterday was short, due to sleeping very late. I got to sleep around four, but was up at five, back to sleep at six, and then up at three. So, I think that’s around ten hours. Once up, I answered e-mails and did a few things, then moseyed on over to Gelson’s – I wasn’t sure if I’d get anything from there or just go to Taco Bell, but they had lox, so I got lox, bagels, and cream cheese. I came right home and made two sandwiches and ate them – very good. Then I sat on my couch like so much fish and watched the doctor movie. After that, I started a couple of other movies, but they didn’t hold my interest and I’m quite certain that I didn’t hold theirs. Then I had my third sandwich. It’s basically like eating a sandwich in the morning, a sandwich for lunch, and a sandwich for dinner and calorie-wise it’s fine.
Then I wrote the commentary, which took about two hours to finish, and now I’m listening to the symphonies of Richard Arnell, whose music I quite like but for some reason I’d nuked it to make space prior to getting the computer fixed. It wasn’t a space issue, so I’m slowly loading stuff back in.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll hopefully have more orders, I’ll eat, I’ll hopefully pick up some packages and, more importantly, two important envelopes, and then we have our second Kritzerland rehearsal at five o’clock. We’ll be done at seven, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I have to get back to reading David Wechter’s notes on our screenplay – I think he’s already figured out at least ten pages of cuts, all of which are fine by me. Thursday afternoon is our stumble-through, and then Friday is sound check and show.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, hopefully have more orders, eat, hopefully pick up packages and two important envelopes, have our second rehearsal, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: What are you favorite what is it, fish dishes and preparations? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to be seeing the last of May.
