THE FILES ARE FILED

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I am very tired due to only getting four hours of lousy sleep. In bed at four, up at eight. I was going to go back to bed, put I got the photo spread back from proofer one with a lot of good fixes. So, I did all those WITH Doug on the phone, so there wouldn’t be any confusion. That took a while. Then I got proofer two’s copy of the photo spread, but his fixes were basically the same as proofer one. I’d also caught a few things. Between us all, I think we got it. Then I went to the mail place and picked up a package and an envelope. I’ve now gotten four of these and it’s some kind of scam – unfortunately, I did it the first time to be nice but hopefully nothing will come of it. You get these letters – people in show business get them – telling you they recently became an autograph collector, and they’d love to have your autograph and they’ve included like seven or eight additional card to sign, for their friends and family. It seemed legit the first time. That was about six months ago and nothing’s really happened. But the second time I got one I immediately got suspicious because they were the same kind of note card and the same exact note. So, I Googled and sure enough, it’s a reported scam, although I don’t know if it’s been successful with anyone who’d actually mean something. And yesterday, yet another. There’s no one to really report it to, although I may report the address and name. The address is probably a UPS Store and the name’s probably fake. Nope, just looked up the address in Indianapolis. Perhaps dear reader Jrand could pay a visit to the house. I looked up and found two listings for people who purportedly live there/own it. Neither matches the name on the envelope. But then I did find a last name listed at that address that did match. One thing I found online that’s this exact thing says he thinks it’s some kind of Internet challenge – banking on not that famous people becoming more famous and then the autograph would go up in value. All very weird and obviously once was enough. I stopped at Gelson’s and got some hamburger meat and a red onion, came home, and made some penne pasta with pink sauce, meat, and onions. Very good and very filling. I could only eat half – normally, I can eat the whole thing – but I saved the other half for later and ate it at nine. Then I approved the photo spread and sent all the files in to the designer with complete instructions. They say I should have a copy to proof this time next week, so that’s really good. In honor of March, we’ll start taking pre-orders for the new book either Saturday or Monday. Exciting. I didn’t really watch anything other than irritating You Tube videos. I don’t think I’ll finish The Color Purple. I also found a gal who did Stop the World with me in New Jersey in 1969. Turns out she lives here in LA, is a frequently working actress who knows a ton of folks that I know. Amazing.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll have a telephonic conversation with David Wechter, I’ll have some kind of sandwich for food, I’ll write, and I’ll call the mail place to see if either of the important envelopes have arrived. Hoping they have. Then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.

The rest of the week is more of the same and we’ll get the book ready for pre-ordering.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, have a telephonic conversation, have some kind of sandwich, write, call the mail place to see what’s what, then I’ll watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or and dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings,  shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have filed the files.
