THE ONGOING ADVENTURES OF ME – OR – ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, in the ongoing adventures of ME, that latest BS for BK is some kind of gum problem behind one of my teeth. Yesterday, out of both the blue and the green, it turned into what I believe is called an abscess, where there’s now like a little pocket of inflamed gum flesh that is quite disgusting and which makes it very difficult to talk, since my tongue keeps hitting it. Out of the damn blue. Or green. I iced it to no avail, did a little research and tried rinsing with warm salt water to no avail. So, I finally called the dentist and told him about it and he’s squeezing me in this morning at 9:30 and I guess he’ll slice it open, drain it, and probably dress it so that it heals. But at least I’ll be able to talk normally for Sunday’s show. As my close personal friends, Miss Barbra Streisand and Miss Donna Summer once sang – enough is enough. We don’t need any more of this damn nonsense and hopefully come my lucky sevens birthday the nonsense will cease, and the light will shine and make everything okay. I accidentally typed “everythong” – but you know, I hate thongs. They are the devil’s work. Anyway, I only got seven hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, had some telephonic conversations, did a few things on the computer, and then took the one 8oz hamburger patty and sliced it into two patties. I then made two cheeseburgers that were very tasty indeed. Then my little package of Cherry Ripe minis arrived and they went directly into the freezer. Then I did the warm saltwater thing and then I decided I needed a sweet treat and something both cooling and soft. I settled on something I haven’t had in probably six to eight YEARS but which I used to love – the chocolate mousse from Hugo’s. It arrived pretty quickly, with lots of whipped cream. And boy, was it good and I finished the entire thing. Then I made the dental appointment, because I knew it was not going to get better without professional treatment. Of course, I tried watching several different motion pictures to no avail, although I did doze off watching something called Miranda – I have no idea what it was actually about. And of course, I watched a few YouTube videos. It is astonishing to me how much money some of these people make by eating food in their cars, by unboxing things, and doing other completely stupid things – millions of followers and views. It’s obscene. And that was about it – not too exciting in the scheme of thongs – sorry – things.

Today, I’ll be up by eight and I’ll mosey on over to the dentist at 8:50 so I can get there at 9:15. I’m hoping there’s not too much pain and I’m hoping the whole process doesn’t take longer than fifteen minutes. Once finished, I have to go to the bank to deposit two checks, then I’ll come home and eat something, although if he’s numbed me at all I probably won’t be able to eat until six. Then at three we have our second Kritzerland rehearsal, and then I can watch, listen, and relax. Do send some excellent vibes and xylophones for no pain and a quick resolution to the gum problem.

Tomorrow, I’ll be up by eleven or thereabouts, I’ll go to the ATM and get some money, as we like to give the singers their stipend in cash. Then we’ll have our stumble-through, after which I’ll give whatever notes I have, and we’ll run any problem things. Once that’s all done, I’ll get something to eat, and then I can watch, listen, and relax. Then Sunday, I’ll probably have to get up at eight-thirty, shave and shower and be on my way to the arboretum at 9:45. Once there, I’ll make sure everything is as it should be, including sound. Then the cast arrives, and we do our sound check at 11:30, doors open at 1:00, and then we do our show at two. After the show, Adrienne Stiefel is having a little appetizers and drinks thing nearby and I’ll go to that for a few minutes, and then a few of us will go to a restaurant for a birthday dinner for my new age, the lucky sevens.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, but up by eight and out the door by 8:50, the dentist will do his thing and hopefully it won’t be too painful or disgusting, then I’ll go to the bank to make a deposit, then I’ll come home and we’ll have our second Kritzerland rehearsal, after which I’ll eat, then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray/streaming player? I’ll start – no clew. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, and then arise and deal with the ongoing adventures of ME.
