Well, dear readers, I have breaking bombshell news for you – it is 2025! Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, it is 2025 and it is my fervent hope and prayer that 2025 will be a year filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. In other breaking news, it is January, and it is my fervent hope and prayer that January will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. There, I’ve said it and I’m glad and I don’t care who knows it. The final day of 2024 was a day. I got almost eight hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, shaved, and then moseyed on over to the dentist. He shot me up with a small dose of Novocain, removed the temporary crown and cleaned off all the cement, tried on the new crown and it fit almost perfectly, he prepped it, and then cemented the sucker in. Once that was done, he did several tests of my bite, then shaved a bit off the bottom left corner and that was that. The whole thing took forty-five-minutes, in and out. I then went to the mail place and picked up two important envelopes and a small package, went to Gelson’s and bought the chicken for the faux chicken stroganoff, then came home. I couldn’t eat until around four due to the Novocain, but by four it had pretty much cleared, and I ordered something soft – spaghetti carbonara from Maria’s Kitchen. It arrived twenty minutes later. It was very good. And for the first time in five YEARS, I can chew on both sides of my mouth, although from five years of only chewing on the right side, I kept defaulting to that. But I consciously took several bites and chewed on the left and it was weird but fine. It will take some time to get used to chewing normally. After that, I dozed off for forty minutes, then we began our Annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Bash and what a bash it turned out to be. That’s mostly what I did all evening, and we rang in the East Coast New Year and then at midnight we rang in the West Coast New Year. They partay was really fun and we were cookin’ with gas, baby with a total of 26 pages and 770 postings. Of course, I did my usual routine – I took a shower and washed 2024 right down the drain, then I did my usual contemplating thing, followed by my usual opening of a new champagne bottle and throwing out the one from last year, pouring myself a sip and then we began the countdown and at midnight I let it all hang out, shouted quite vociferously, HAPPY NEW YEAR, and had my sip of champagne. And here we are in a brand new year and a brand new month.
Today, I’ll be up by ten, and I’ll start writing my new book. First, I’ll futz and finesse the twenty-something pages I already wrote, and then I’ll finish the chapter I’m on and try to do at least ten to fifteen new pages. I’m really looking forward to being back in writing mode. Nothing like it, really. At two-thirty, I’ll take a break, shave and shower, and then begin preparing the food for the intimate gathering at four. I’ll be making faux chicken stroganoff and there are various and sundried sweets, too, including the always-eaten Entenmann’s chocolate donuts. I also have rolls. That will probably last until six and then I’ll clean up, perhaps do a bit more writing, and then I can watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow, I’ll do banking, and then write, see if anything’s at the mail place, but nothing much beyond the writing and then taking a break to watch, listen, and relax.
Friday and the weekend is just writing and relaxing, then next week we have our first casting session for Drat! The Cat! and I do hope we have a nice turnout for it.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten, start writing a new book after futzing and finessing what I already wrote, shave and shower, prepare food, have an intimate gathering of nice folks to start the New Year with friendship and camaraderie, clean up, maybe write some more, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answers we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, as we give a hearty and hale welcome to both 2025 and January – and it is my fervent prayer that 2025 will be a year filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful, and that January will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful.
