THE PROPER DAY VIBE

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must admit to being totally and completely discombobulated as to what day it is. For some reason, it seems like a Monday, not a Friday, so I’ve got a Monday vibe on a Friday. I hope I don’t have a Friday vibe on Monday. One simply must have the correct vibe for the day it is, otherwise, your vibe is off and everything is askew and you wander to and fro (orf, spelled backwards), dazed and confused, not necessarily in that order. In any case, I had a bit of a rough night – in bed by one, up at four-thirty, back in bed at eight, up at ten, back in bed immediately and up at eleven-twenty. We call that UADS (Ups and Downs Syndrome). Once up, I dressed quickly and decided to do my banking before noon. That was a good instinct. There were almost no cars on the streets, which was nice. I got to the bank quickly, got my favorite teller, cashed my check and was in and out in three minutes. Then I walked down the street to my BofA branch to deposit the cash. Before I could even get to the tellers, some guy stopped me and asked if he could help me. I said I was depositing cash and didn’t need his help. He then informed me that their system was down, and they couldn’t do any cash deposits. That was most irritating. An elderly gent asked the guy where the tellers were. The guy was unfortunately soft-spoken, and the elderly gent was almost completely deaf, so I told him what was going on in a nice, loud orotund voice, for which he was grateful. He was not grateful to not be able to do his banking. A teller I’ve been to a lot came up to me and told me to just do the cash deposit in the ATM and it would be credited immediately. So, she walked me over there and that worked fine. Then I came home. It was already twelve-thirty, so I finished off the tuna pasta salad and then began futzing and finessing the fifteen pages I’d written the day before. That took a bit of time – just revising a few sentences, moving a few things around, deleting some unnecessary verbiage and smoothing things out. Once that was finished, I wrote a new page. Then I had a telephonic conversation at two, then went back to writing and wrote an additional five pages or so. I took a break, finished cleaning up and doing a few dishes, then went back to writing. I got another two or three pages and ended chapter two, so that was nice. I did thirteen pages and will do two more before bed. I really enjoyed writing one sequence, but it really slowed me up because I had to research some stuff and that took more time than it should have.

Around six, I had a Chinese chicken salad from Stanley’s, and that was very good. Cindy Pearl had gifted me some pumpkin loaf and I had a small slice of that, and it was very tasty. I watched some irritating videos on YouTube, wrote some more, finishing the thirteenth new page just before having to write these here notes, which I’m doing a bit bleary-eyed. And here we are.

Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll try to remember that it’s Friday and not Monday, so I have a proper day vibe, I’l futz and finesse, write new pages, do a Gelson’s run and hope they have the soup I like and I’ll probably get whatever food I want for the day while I’m there. I’ve been craving a nice turkey sandwich, so I may get some turkey from the deli there and some rye bread, some lettuce, and make a nice turkey sandwich. I’ll check with the mail place and see if anything’s there and if there is I’ll go retrieve it, then I’ll come home, eat, and write more new pages. I’m going to try and do twelve to fifteen a day. Once I’m finished, then I can watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow and Sunday are more of the same, and if I keep up the writing pace, I should be able to send Muse Margaret the first 100 pages on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. And Tuesday, we have our first casting session for Drat! The Cat!

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, have the proper day vibe, futz and finesse, write new pages, get some food from Gelson’s, maybe pick up something from the mail place should anything be there to pick up, eat, write more new pages, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Friday – what is currently in your CD player and your DVD/Blu and Ray/streaming player. I’ll start – not a clew. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, hoping I have the proper day vibe.
