Well, dear readers, I have breaking bombshell news for you and so put on the brakes while I break the breaking bombshell news – it is February. Yes, you heard it here, dear readers, it is February, and it is my fervent hope and prayer that February will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful. There, I’ve said it and I’m glad. You may now take off the brakes and step on the gas because it’s going to be a busy little month that will only get busier in March, which is just around the corner due to February being a short month. But first, we must talk about the final day of January. January certainly had its challenges and yes, we really could use a modern major miracle right about now, but it also produced a new book that is now going to the designers today, and it did bring some potential good news should things happen the way we are praying they will – one of which I’ve mentioned, and one I can’t mention. We did mostly cast Drat! The Cat! had a couple of dropouts before we even began, which was irritating, and we still need two people and are running out of time to find them. Even if we don’t, however, it’s still a company of around twenty and I’ll just have to make do. On the final day of January, I got just under eight hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, got dressed, and then picked up our very own Donald Feltham and off we went to the storage place to unearth the two Drat! The Cat! music boxes containing the charts we had done for our recording. I had no clew how long it would take to find said boxes because it’s such a horrible mess in there, but we lucked out – box one we found instantly, right in front – it took about ten minutes to locate box two and of course it was bottom box on a pile of eight other boxes. But Donald got to it pretty quickly and we got out of there in forty minutes from start to finish. I took Donald home and then came home, answered more e-mails, had a truly irritating DoorDash experience, that resulted in trashing one meal and then ordering another and having that one not be good – a place that heretofore had been very good. And so it goes, food-wise. I am finding very little consistency these days, and frankly I think it’s time for me to find a nearby jernt I like, like the late Jerry’s Deli, and just go there three or four times a week to get a meal I know I can depend on – and much easier to lose weight that way. And, in the long run, cheaper, but not much unfortunately, because you have to pay for your drink there, unlike at home.
I had some telephonic calls, ran one thing by Muse Margaret, and now the book goes to the designers. Then I went to the mail place where I picked up a couple of packages but NO important envelopes, which I have to say was a bit alarming. Hopefully, they’ll be there today. I came back home, had a brief visit, and the rest you know because you know the rest.
Today, I’ll be up by ten, I’ll do whatever needs doing, then the musical director will come, and we’ll play a few things, then go through the charts – he has to figure out which of the six reed books will be best for our band and the same with the four trumpet books, but trumpet one will probably be best for that. I think our reed player can do sax, flute, and maybe oboe. The bass and drum books are there and those just need to be copied. We may luck out with the reed book because for some reason there seems to be two sets of reed books. We shall see. After that, I’ll hopefully pick up two important envelopes, eat, and then it’s a ME day and I’ll watch, listen, and relax.
Tomorrow is more of a ME day, and then Monday I’ll be gearing up to start music rehearsals on Tuesday night, all the group numbers, then all the other songs except for the leading lady and man, who’ll be doing their stuff here at the house on Thursday night. The Saturday, I’ll be staging all their duets and solos – they’re pretty simple so I’m hoping I can get them all done, at least roughly. They must find me an assistant director who will not only notate every bit of blocking but film the ography stuff.
Let’s all put on our pointy party hats and our colored tights and pantaloons, let’s break out the cheese slices and the ham chunks, let’s dance the Hora or the Swim, for today is the birthday of our very own long-time DJ, Donald Feltham, So, let’s give a big haineshisway.com birthday cheer to our very own long-time DJ, Donald Feltham. On the count of three: One, two, three – A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR VERY OWN LONG-TIME DJ, DONALD FELTHAM!!!
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten, play through some music, check out charts, hopefully pick up two important envelopes, eat, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: Would you rather cook or go out to eat – if you had your druthers? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to welcome in the short month known as February – and it is my fervent hope and prayer that February will be a month filled with health, wealth, happiness, creativity, and all things bright and beautiful.
