Well, dear readers, first things first, then second things second. What if the Gershwins had written these here notes? And it might go something like this.
There’s always notes to write,
They’re written every day.
And even when they’re trite,
No, no, they can’t take BK’s Notes away.
You sit like so much fish,
You watch a Blu and Ray.
You get a birthday wish,
No, no, they can’t take BK’s Notes away.
Need a modern major miracle,
Send some vibes this way and soon.
There’s The Randy Vicar
And the Withered Prune.
But these here notes are late,
Let’s post without delay.
And I would like to state,
No, no, they can’t take BK’s Notes away,
No, they can’t take BK’s Notes away.
Those darn Gershwins. In other news, we had our first rehearsal for Drat! The Cat! – learning all the group numbers. It’s a very handsome cast and they really sounded great. I can’t wait to start staging. I did my usual spiel, got folks laughing, and then turned the rehearsal over to our musical director. I came right home after and ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup and a side of mac and cheese – very good. Prior to all that, I got eight hours of sleep, got up, answered e-mails, and then moseyed on over to Paty’s for a meeting with our choreographer, Cheryl Baxter. We talked through the numbers – some she’ll do from scratch and some I’ll sketch out and structure and she’ll finesse. I had my Trousdale grilled sandwich and potato salad. After that, I came home, did stuff on the computer, then relaxed for a bit, shaved and showered, and then moseyed on over to the theater. And here we are.
Today, I’ll be up when I’m up, I’ll do whatever needs doing, I’ll eat, I’ll stop at the mail place, and then we have our second music rehearsal. We’ll review everything during the first hour or however long it takes, then we’ll move on to the first scene song and then the duet, It’s Your Fault. And I think that’s everything save for all the Bob and Alice solos and duets.
Tomorrow, we do all the Bob and Alice solos and duets here at the home environment. Friday we’re off, then Saturday I’ll stage as many Bob and Alice things as I can. The solos should be easy. Sunday is a ME day, Monday, I bring the motor car in to get a couple of things fixed, and then we’re staging stuff all week.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up when I’m up, do whatever needs doing, stop at the mail place, eat, stop at the mail place, then have our second music rehearsal. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear readers any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, happy to have had a fun first music rehearsal.
