Well, dear readers, it’s 11:03, there’s no one in the place, except you and me. So, set ‘em up, Joe, I’ve got some little stories I think you should know. We’re writin’, my friend, to the end, of some brief notes right now. Make it one for dear readers, and one more for the cow. What am I, Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer all of a sudden? So, what can I tell you? It was sort of a ME day but not really. I did get over ten hours of sleep, which was lovely. I did get up and answer e-mails. I did go to the mail place, the ATM, and Gelson’s. I did come home and have some Gelson’s cheese enchiladas and much later, a small Caesar salad. I watched no motion picture nor listened to any music. I did have several long telephonic conversations, mostly to do with the set for Drat! The Cat! and now I finally understand what the deal is, how many exits/entrances I have, where each member of the band lives, platforms, and other stuff. I can finally figure out how I want to stage the opening of the show. But most of the day and evening I proofed the designed book and am finding several things we all missed that I, in fact, thought we’d corrected, but apparently not. It’s not typos, it had to do with timelines that were adjusted and that I thought we’d gone over with a fine-tooth comb. I never knew a comb was either fine or filled with teeth. I did save two or three movies on the Tube of You that looked interesting, and I’ll watch those at some point. I also cancelled this morning’s car appointment and will reschedule for Friday if it’s available. I really don’t think anything else happened. Oh, I could make up some stuff, I guess. I could say I went outside and did the Lambada (The Forbidden Dance). I could say that exercised my right to exercise. I could say that I pranced about in a fig leaf or even a Fig Newton. I could say I punched Elon Musk in the face. But that’s all just wishful thinking as the midnight hour approaches.
Today, I’ll be up by ten, I’ll finish proofing and get that to the design team, I’ll prep for tomorrow night’s big staging stuff, I’ll eat something amusing, I’ll have telephonic conversations, I’ll book the CAT scan appointment, and then at some point, I can watch, listen, and relax. Oh, and here’s our Drat poster with cast names and stuff.
Tomorrow, we do the overture and opening number staging. The overture has several vignettes within it, and then that all leads right into the title song. That’s all that’s scheduled and I’m sure it will take all three hours, but if we should finish early, I’ll just move onto something else. Wednesday is more staging, both scenes and numbers, Thursday is the same. Friday, we have off, then we have a longer day on Saturday. I’m hoping at least half the show is done by then. I’m sure there’ll also be some meetings and meals along the way and let’s not forget one more for the cow.
Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by ten, finish proofing and get it back to the design team, prep for tomorrow night’s big rehearsal, eat, have telephonic conversations, book the CAT scan appointment, and then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: When was the first time you attended a dance. Did you know how? Did you make it up as you danced? What was the occasion and how often have you been dancing since? Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, now that we’ve made it one for dear readers, and one more for the cow.
