CONSISTENCY, AND THAT’S THAT

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, I must write these here notes in a hurry for she of the Evil Eye will be here all too soon, a one-off Wednesday appearance – although a few weeks ago we did a Monday appearance – none of that is the deal. Originally it was Saturdays for almost twenty years, then suddenly Tuesdays a year ago. But I am not going to have it change every time she comes – I need it to be consistent and that’s that. So, yesterday was certainly a day and I don’t really remember much about it. I think I got six hours of sleep or something like that, got up, answered e-mails, had Cheesecake Factory for food (farfalle with roasted garlic, peas, red onion, mushrooms and sundried tomatoes. I’m pretty sure it’s always come with at least a little cream in the sauce, but this seemed to be a lot of either oil or butter and it just didn’t quite taste like it usually does. It wasn’t bad or anything, just a bit different. I like things to be consistent, and that’s that. After that, I did a small Instacart delivery (free delivery, no minimum) – for Tide and Bounce – she goes through detergent like nobody’s business, and I think we all know how nobody’s business goes through detergent. I think the last box had 95 washes in it and I’m pretty sure that purchase was about eight weeks ago, four of which had her using up 95 washes. Don’t know how that’s actually possible, but there you are. Then I tracked the book shipment and found they’d been delivered, so I moseyed on over there and picked up the two boxes. I now have to sign them and do the little extra thing that will be included, then the helper will come get them and ship them. Then I did some organizing, then sat on my couch like so much fish, but just dozed off and only watched bits and pieces of things like Ghost World and other stuff I don’t even remember. I also watched some irritating YouTube videos, read a really well-written review of the Ormandy box set thanks to dear reader Singdaw, had some chocolate licorice for a sweet, and that was pretty much it.

Today, I’ll be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty and I’ll meet Robert Yacko for our usual breakfast somewhere. After that, I’ll pick up my two items from the dry cleaners, put gas in the motor car, do some errands and whatnot, and then come back home. I still have to book the two Kritzerland shows, I’ll pray for a modern major miracle, and I’ll get a report about our piano sub, and I do hope the report is good. I have people coming to see the show on Friday night and I don’t want the cast struggling and not doing the best show we can. Then at some point I’ll watch, listen, and relax.

Tomorrow is more of the same, then Friday we resume our performances – not sure if I’ll attend all of them, but I’ll have to be there Friday night just for support and to see the folks I know.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, be up by eight and out the door by eight-thirty, have breakfast, pick up dry cleaning, put gas in the motor car, do errands and whatnot, come home, book two Kritzerland shows, pray for a modern major miracle, get a report, then watch, listen, and relax. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s Ask BK Day, the day in which you get to ask me or any dear reader any old question you like and we get to give any old answer we like. So, let’s have loads of lovely questions and loads of lovely answers and loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst I hit the road to dreamland, where I hope there will be consistency, and that’s that.
