THE EMERGENCY NOTES

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, Time Warner Cable is currently down in the City of Studio, and has been down in the City of Studio since one o’clock this afternoon. Not only is it STILL down, they have no idea when it will be up and running, and rather than take a chance that these incompetent twits might not be able to fix this problem this evening (they knew about the problem at one and yet the crew did not arrive to the problem destination where there’s a fiber optic cut until five-forty-five – Ladies and Gentleman – Time Warner), I came over to Panera to post and then get these here Emergency Notes written and posted, just in case. I was intending to take today off from the longer notes, which will resume tomorrow with an entry I’m really looking forward to writing, so I’ll just say that I’m not so happy with Time Warner right now and maybe it’s time for Time Warner to get its sorry-ASS act together.

The other parts of the day were quite nice. I did the long jog, after which I went to the editing room and did the few small fixes I had. We then built the main and end titles (there is an opening crawl that’s REALLY funny), and then the editor began to up-rez the whole locked show, while I toddled off to do a few errands and whatnot. I arrived home at about one-twenty and saw the problem with Time Warner. I spoke to them, and they were their usual completely non-committal, uncaring selves, never willing to admit any sort of responsibility and never offering helpful information.

I then toddled off to Nate ‘n’ Al’s for a pastrami sandwich, which was way too large (that’s why I love Langer’s – best pastrami, and normal-sized sandwiches). I killed two hours there, and then headed home. As stated, Time Warner was still down, so I began watching a Claude Lelouch movie called Les Bon Et Le Machants. I got about halfway through, then spoke to Time Warner and realized I’d better get my tired butt cheeks over to Panera to post some Emergency Notes.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I’m already bored of sitting at Panera and wish to finish the motion picture on DVD.

Today (well, tomorrow, tomorrow being Sunday), I have to drop off the Illya Darling material to my designers home environment. Other than that, I don’t think I have any plans at all. Hopefully, Time Warner will have fixed the problem and I’ll at least be able to work on the computer. If not, I shall breathe fire.

Tomorrow (tomorrow being Monday), the two new Kritzerland CDs should be arriving by two and it’s my intention to get as many of them packaged and over to the post office as humanly possible. Also, my pal Nick Redman is coming by to visit. Tuesday I have a noon meeting, and Wednesday morning, at long last, I’m getting a really needed haircut from Teddy, and then I’m lunching with Barry Pearl, hopefully at Langer’s.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do the long jog in the morning, and then catch up on all the stuff I should have done on the computer but didn’t because of the incompetence of Time Warner. IF they get it working tonight, I may come in and add some stuff to the notes – we shall see. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, whilst we hope and pray that Time Warner fixes their problem and gets us back online.
