SUPERGUY

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, another week is hurtling past faster than a speeding bullet. These speeding weeks are more powerful than a locomotive. These weeks go by so fast that they are practically able to leap tall buildings at a single bound or, at the very least, a double bound. Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane – it’s SuperGuy, strange visitor from another planet, who, disguised as BK, mild-mannered notes-writer for haineshisway.com, fights a never ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way. And fish. Let’s not forget fish. Well, this is a fine way to start off the notes, isn’t it? We went right into left field, didn’t we? Or did we go left into right field? We went into some field, that’s all I know. Yesterday, I had a strange little day. I had to go meet my eBay seller at ten-thirty, and that kind of got my writing off to a late start, and then that was a struggle, even though I liked what I was writing. I just need to flesh out two little sections, but the flesh wasn’t coming to me. I think I’ve got the flesh now and I’ll be adding in come morning. Then I shall be on to a new section of the book, which is always frightening and invigorating at the same time. It’s also invigorating and exciting at the same time. I’m still trying to figure out if we’re in left field or right field. Anyway, I did get a nice CD in the mail, and I was very very good, food-wise. I ate very healthy – turkey sandwich, and a green salad and a sticky bun. Okay, the sticky bun wasn’t so healthy, but I still ate less than 1500 calories for the day, and I usually lose weight if I can maintain that intake. I hope to get an early start on the writing today. Isn’t that exciting? Isn’t that just too too?

Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SuperGuy. I like the sound of that, don’t you? I think we’ve got us a new franchise around these here parts. What else did I do yesterday? I watched Alias – I have been mildly disappointed with this entire season, and last night’s episode was no exception. It had some nice scenes but the whole thing has just settled into its formula this season, and there hasn’t really been any of the wacky freshness that the series used to regularly have. I also abhorred the promos for last night’s episode – that cutesy use of Sisters by Irving Berlin. What a stupid idea. What show are they trying to get people to watch, I wonder?

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must leap a few tall buildings at a single bound right about now.

It’s SuperGuy. We have our own superhero now, here at haineshisway.com. How many other sites on all the Internet have their own superhero? Speaking of superhero, do they even make hero sandwiches anymore? All I see our submarines, and stuffed pita and all that kind of malarkey. Can one get a good old-fashioned hero sandwich, yes or no? And what makes a hero sandwich? What are the ingredients?

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I shall be heading to the Angeles of Los for my first visit with Teddy the Hairdresser in two count them two years. I’m looking forward to him working his magic on my locks and also my lox. Perhaps I’ll take a photograph of my new do with my sparkling highlights.

I made a little purchase yesterday, but I’m not ready to talk about it until it’s actually in the home environment, which will be some time between now and Monday, we’re hoping. I’m quite excited by it.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must write, I must eat reasonably, I am hopeful of seeing Mr. Grant Geissman at some point in the later afternoon or early evening, and I must do some various and sundried errands whilst tooling about in my motor car. Today’s topic of discussion: What are our favorite hot sandwiches. I used to love a good hot sandwich, but they don’t seem to be in favor anymore. Let’s hear loving descriptions of your favorite hot sandwiches, and where you got them. I still love Philipe’s Beef Dip Sandwich in downtown LA. And Jan’s Coffee Shop on Beverly Blvd. does an incredible concoction called the Half Reuben – which is grilled bread, ham, turkey, cheese, and Russian dressing. Your turn. Let’s have loads of lovely postings, shall we, and let us pay homage to our new superhero, SuperGuy.
