...Needless to say, I've been busy...  If I was able to have a computer keyboard in front of me while I work instead of a piano keyboard, well then...  And I've been working a lot both at The Palace and other locales.  Otherwise... Lestat is still running... We go into the studio next Monday to record the cast album...  :D  And I'm still having a wonderful time in general with the show and living in New York.  *And I finally got a New York cell phone number!!!!

That's all for now... I'm just taking a little post-show break at my friend's office, and then we're heading to dinner.  Things are supposed to be a little slower this week for me - two days of day-work instead of four or five - and I should be able to check in here on HHW in the mornings at least.

Hope everyone is doing well, and, trust me, I fully know that I fully deserve a big ole bitch-slapping for being so errant and truant over the past couple of weeks.  -Just when you think you've caught up on life...

OMG!!! Mamma Mia!!!  It's DRJOSE!!!

Speaking of which... A whole bunch of people from the Mamma Mia! tour are now back in New York City.  Some of them have joined the Broadway company, others just decided that four years on the road was enough for now, back to terra firma.  One of the people back from the tour is the merchandising person, Vick - he's now in charge of the Lestat merchandise at The Palace.  -Anyone want a baseball cap and/or t-shirt at cost?

;)

*And Vick's wife, Lauren Mufson, played Donna on the tour for about two years.  They both left at the same time, and are enjoying their time back home.

DR ELMORE I got a book about musicals and there is photo from a 1903 production of BABES featuring William Norris and Mabel Barrison sitting in front of a brick wall holding Mother Hubbard's children while they sing "I Can't Do the Sum."

I figure since it's in this book it's a familiar photo, but if you haven't seen it or want a scan let me know.

Just so you'll know.

Patrizio has just been giving concert performances here in Melbourne DR MBarnum.

I don't believe a concert is the type of performance that MBarnum had in mind.

So....what a nice quote....almost hard to believe, but still interesting:

"Ever since I was a little girl in Florida, I have wanted to create a role on Broadway."  It's a great goal, but where did she get the idea?  And why did Disney do an extensive search for "Mary" wasting the time and raising the hopes of countless actresses, only to cast the woman who was playing Belle in their Broadway BEAUTY AND THE BEAST?

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, Tina, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

I've seen Ashley Brown twice, in a performance of On the Record and at a benefit singing A Change in Me.  She's really great.  I wonder if they were worried that she might be too young and/or inexperienced so they did a casting search just to make sure that she was right.  We used to do that at Nick, have an actor/actress in mind, then audition 100 more just to prove to ourselves (and the producers) that our first choice was really the right choice.

That's right... because you need a flashlight!
BUT.... since when are obeying orders???!

Flashlight vibes to TCB.

I still think that the National Enquirer will probably have a banner headline next week:

Rodz and I had brunch with Ben and Ant this morning.  We walked into a restaurant in our neighborhood (one of about three) and realized, doh! it's mother's day, the whole world is out to brunch.  Luckily the had an opening and we were able to get a table.  At first they told us that they weren't accepting any more reservations, we would have to wait "a while", and that we had to wait inside the restaurant, we couldn't wander about.  After a look was exchanged with the hostess he said, oh or you can sit there, gesturing toward an empty table for four...

Right, I felt like maybe he was just trying to admonish us then after the look he got from his co-worker he just dropped it.  Maybe I'm reading too much into it.  At any rate, my jalapeno jack cheeseburger was delish!
