DR JRand, I think you are thinking of Albert Glasser. He is the one who did the music for ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE and who shared his recordings with me.

Herman Stein, however worked on the music in many of the Universal films of the 50s, and some wonderful music indeed!

Jose - On a light-traffic Sunday, I'd bet you'd make it.  It took me only 25 minutes from midtown once.  You'd have your ticket in hand, and the tickets are right off the aisle, so you wouldn't be disturbing people in your row.  Just not sure what the late-seating policy is at BAM, though.

I didn't know until yesterday, for instance, that Strauss wrote a different Czardas for the leading lady in a revival of FLEDERMAUS.  I'm surprised no one's recorded it.

Yowza! I'd love to see it!!! Is it in print or manuscript somewhere???

DR PennyO, the alternate Czardas is published in the appendix of the Strauss critical edition of FLEDERMAUS.  There's a companion vocal score published, so it may be an appendix in that as well.  Check the UCLA music library and see if they have the edition in reference.

DR FJL - I'll call you when I'm on my way, but I'll aim for the pick up around 2:15.  If that's OK, and if the tickets are still available.

Well, finally caught up... Thanks for this news Elmo!

I'm still waiting for a call from jane about the Baby... jeez, pins and needles...

Continued vibes for our thespians! Anthony, GET THAT JOB!!! Cason, get naked!

So I had wads of reading yesterday, and a monster headache, which is better now, after a few hours of sleep. So much writing to do by next Friday... but it's all good stuff, fun to work on.

Heading down now to clean up and have a little snack in anticipation of my day-long adventure.

However, since I'm not leaving until 2 p.m., I should have time to squeeze in SMALLVILLE and perhaps one or both of the NBC comedies I recorded last night. We'll see.

And since it it Friday...  It's always a very pleasant surprise when you look at your paycheck, and you realize that the weekly rate on the check is larger than the rate you were quoted.  :)

DR MattH - Drive safely.  -Are they doing an environmental staging of The Donkey Show like it was done here in NYC?  If so, bring comfortable shoes, since you'll most likely be standing.  A lot.
