You have a cafeteria at your work?

I know, I know.   I shouldn't be complaining!   :)

... I'm having fun so far, it's a lovely little town (Lexington) and reminds me of the town I grew up in in the foothills of California (Angels Camp)....
Angel's Camp, which isn't too far from where my Dad lives, in Sonora.  Very nice area!

Oh, God, I love the stupidity of the soaps! Today AS THE WORLD TURNS is on New Year's Eve, and it will probably be New Year's Eve for the next week.  Last week Christmas Day arrived on its traditional Dec. 25.  The soaps have the strangest fiscal calendars.

Well, I was wrong! It's now 2008 on AS THE WORLD TURNS.

Well, I did want to bring up Aesop's fable about the frog and the ox on the cast recording list and decided no to.

This is one of the sticking points in the WGA strike - the writers want accurate calendars, and the producers refuse to give them to them.

How did you know what I was wearing tonight?

Well, Julie, you'd better get over to Sing's before the aviators get there. It's a very popular outfit!

Time to get ready for work.

And to find out from der B what we're going to do about dinner... which will be late tonight.

Why of course, he's going to pick up some luscious take-out, and have it warm, ready, and waiting for you once he picks you up from work.

Weird site - can anyone see any way of contacting the site?  I looked, but didn't see any e-mail link or contact button, but I'd love to write the guy and tell him to put my father's restaurant in his extinct list, plus I can provide him with matchbook and menu covers for a number of places he's got that have nothing.

I just chowed down on some rather greasy fish and chips from the little hole-in-the-wall Dublin chipper that I should partially own my now. (I'm a regular.)

Please note, Sing, NO tuna sandwich.

I did a few more errands and took care of some other business. I'm stuffed from lunch, it feels like rain, and I'm starting to feel quite lazy.

I thought the Bette Davis comment was a "Peta! Peta! Peta!" reference.

(Did Bette Davis ever actually say "Peter, Peter, Peter?" Is it a legend the way cary grant apparently never actually siad "Judy, Judy, Judy.")

I remember Bette Davis and Whitney Stine on Mike Douglas' show publicizing the book they wrote together (MOTHER GODAM). Bette claimed she never said the name, and Whitney corrected her with the names of three films in which the main male character's name was Peter. As to whether she ever strung the name together three times, I don't remember if he answered that or not.
