Just watched a fantastic Bollywood Bengali film, KHELAGHAR (1959). Very film noir. I think I am going to have to get me some more of the Bengali DVDs, I really like them.

Had a reasonable stumble through the show.  Several actors attempted to be off book for act one with predictable results.  Lots of missed blocking, but we'll clean all that up this week.  We got through it (sans the choreographed musical numbers), though, so that's good.  The theater's dramaturge and artistic director were there, very nice people both, but I found it odd that they would sit in on a rough stumble through such as this, since the cast was just worrying about where to be and what to do rather than performances.

We ate at the Kansas City Barbecue when we got back into the city - Mr. Rothman had the ribs, and I a brisket sandwich.  Excellent, as always.  The restaurant, which is basically a hole in the wall, is moving in a week about a mile away in a better location.

I just fed the Beta fish we are watching for a few days.  I can't wait until it goes home.  Keith & I are very nervous it will die on our watch.

I don't know who those people are in that commercial.  However, one of my friends in Richmond actually did one of their earlier ones, and he was cast of out a commercial agency in North Carolina.  ???

Has anyone heard about this?

I can't get it to load on my PC, but apparently Craig Bierko has started a web Talk Show where he bathes celebrity interviewees in a bathtub.  Sounds pretty far out!

Yes, it is pretty far out. I want to see more! (Interviews, that is...)

Wow, that's a great word of the day - Obsequious!  Never in the history of words of the day has there been such a perfect choice of word, and I'm amazed by the grace and sophistication with which it was handled.

BK's posting last night about the letter from the Nudie Musical fan makes me wonder how many of you ihave contacted people who were an influence and told them?

Just one--Van Dyke Parks. He wrote me back and was unbelievably gracious (this was about 10 years ago) and we have continued to correspond, as well as work together, and he has even visited us in Atlanta. No one else has been such an influence in my life as an example of not selling out and following your creative instincts. You may not be rich, but you will be happy, and since money can't buy happiness...

I don't think I could even get into the shower, let alone drive to the theater.

TCB, I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain.

Maybe Mr. Bierko could at least help if you don't mind baths instead of a shower.

Uh-Oh!  It's Classical Department Sale time again at J&R Music World - at least in-store it is.  Time to stock up on the imports.  ;)

I <heart> J&R. They also have an excellent selection of calypso music!

Back from Toyland, and a very good trek it was. Now I need to rearrange some furniture for the workmen tomorrow morning.

Elmore is getting plastered tomorrow morning!

I need to feed Callie and Boo  and get back to cleaning.  I hate bagless vacuum cleaners.  How on earth do you empty it without getting dust and dirt all over the place.   Maybe it's just me...

I have a Dyson...my splurge for surviving the move. I empty it outside, putting it in a bag and closing it up before dumping it into the bag.

I didn't go to my prom (my boyfriend was a musician who maintained that "musicians don't dance") but I would have, if it was a "Zombie Prom"! That sounds very cool, T-Punk!

Hmm. I think for a very first live show I would have taken kids to see Music Man or Damn Yankees.

Perhaps they would like to see you strip in Guys and Dolls.

Thanks, Edi.  Actually I wouldn't mind Mr Bierko being in the tub with me, as long as he doesn't bring along Mr. Malkovich.

Elmore is getting plastered tomorrow morning!

I just might do that tonight.  We opened a bottle of wine to have with the steak dinner we just shared with Rob and Mary Linda and there's quite a bit left.  My plan is to finish it and sleep well tonight.

Yes, I do that, but I would really prefer the old bag type vacuum, I think they were actually a lot cleaner.
