Don't forget, today is Record Store Day.  Be sure to pay a visit to you local, independent record store today.

Unfortunately there are none in my area. Best Buy, Barnes and Noble and Borders (sort of) are what I have access to

Back from a lovely lunch at Red Robin and a not so lovely trip to  Walmart.

Had the mushroom burger and fries with a delicious, refreshing cocktail, which is something I have not imbibed of in many moons.

There were policeman (state troopers, county sheriffs and city police) all over the restaurant as they were there to get donations for the special olympics. When handsome and toned Officer Frazzini came to our table to see if we would like to donate, well Jim and I couldn't resist.

I did, by change. And I found a used copy of "Woman of the Year," a CD I had been looking for for quite some time now. So, I'm very happy I did.

Wondering what ever happen to the following Broadway musical performers

Ben Harney (Dreamgirls)*
Jere Shea (Passion)
Leilani Jones (grind)*
Brian Backer (The Flaoting Lightblub)* (Okay not a musical but still wondering)
Michael McGuire (Les Miz)*
Frances Ruffelle (Les Miz)*

Robert Westenberg (Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park With George)  (hasn't been on Broadway for 12 years

* Harney won a Tony award and never did another Broadway shiow. Jones, McGuire Ruffelle and Backer did one show and won a Tony Award and never did another Broadway show

Maguire was in the Lincoln Center A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC as Carl-Magnus. I think I've seen Ben Harney on NY-based TV shows like LAW & ORDER, but I wouldn't swear to it.

Never had a moon pie. Don't even know what a moon pie is.

But I do love Chalava, (Marbled or chocolate covered)

Favorite Canadian chocolate bars

Coffee Crisp
Aero
Mr. Big

I honestly had no idea that aero and coffee crisp were not available in the US. I would think that aero would be very popular.  Very weird to me that we have different chocolate bars.
I saw Aero and a number of other British candy bars at a British shop we had in town. They even had Fairy dishwashing liquid.

While lunch was cooking and while I was eating, I watched FLASH FORWARD. Absurd plot developments and irritating behavior from characters who are very off-putting. If we weren't so close to the end of the season, I'd drop this show like a stone.

Then I watched PROJECT RUNWAY. I was very disappointed in the selection of the third person for Fashion Week. The panel went with the person Heidi wanted, but she was wrong.

The primary question they were asking was "Whose collection do you want to see more of," and I can't believe they chose whom they did. Argh!

Looking forward to the runway shows of the other two designers, however.

And I began watching the season premiere of THE TUDORS. Henry has gotten to Catherine Howard now, but the show is kind of a joke with Jonathan Rhys Myers looking about 30 and still sporting the same slim look of his earlier days.

Still, it's the last season, so I'll stay with it to the end.

When I go back down, I'll finish THE TUDORS and then watch RESURRECTION. Once that's finished, I'll decide if I want to channel surf or watch something else this evening before my evening internet surf.

And still NO sign of rain. Not even a cloud in the sky at the moment. It couldn't be any more beautiful outside.

Great photos, JRand!

I'm packing up my trusty camera then hopping into the shower.

Umm.. You're going to take your camera in the shower with you?

Umm. . .I don't think I've ever done that.   ;)

Hi all!  Just when you thought I was gone, here I am!

I'm finely starting to get settled down in the house.  Lord, I can't even BEGIN to tell you how nice it is to be back home!

I'm getting things back in order bit by bit.  Funny how some things work out.  People came and stole my ladders and my glider.  Thelma asked the lady who lived across the street from her if I could have her ladders since she was moving into a condo so I have both a 6 ft A frame and an extension ladder once again.

I bought a new glider (wood this time) but went ahead and chained it to the porch pole anyway.   So some of the things that were taken are replaced.

Yesterday, I picked up my newest member of our family, Toby, who is a little 7 month old boxer mix.  I had a feeling that he and Sheena would hit it off and I was very right!   :)

I just don't want to take Sheena to the dog park any more.  To many fights--humans not dogs--and I know for a fact that people drop their unwanted dogs off there but I heard that the last ones had parvo.

That really made my mind up to never go back but Sheena was so lonely and really missed playing with the other dogs.  Toby is going to keep her very busy.  They played all day today and are now pooped out on the floor and couch.

I think you have a lot more English candy than we do.  One time in Canada I found these delicious Swedish style ginger cookies made by Kraft.  We don't have them here & I could not get Kraft to communicate how I could buy them.

What are they called?

re: aero and the other chocolate listed

It is so weird to find out now that some of these chocolate bars i grew up with are not US chocolate bars.

I guess part of it is that most of the US tv I watch has Canadian commercials so i guess i wouldn't notice not seeing ads for these bars.

Unless you watch in HD or by satellite, here if you watch an American tv show that is on at the same time on a Canadian station they have to show the Canadian feed.

On the spot dispatch....

The car that drove us all around yesterday was in an accident at noon today.

Evil Kurt was hit from behind by a little old man in a big car and is now driving a rental car....his car may be totaled, it sets now at the Honda dealership.

We both agreed that if that is so, that the last trip taken in the car by EK, BK, CP, and ME was most memorable and a fine way for it to go out....if it is so.
