The neighbor above me is moving out.  God knows what the new one will be like.  I took the recyclables and cartons to the basement and got stranded because they turned off the elevator on 4 and I thought it was broken.  I was terrified I was stranded and yelled my head off before it began running again.

 >:(

How long did they leave it turned off?

At the Dollar Tree almost every customer was wearing a mask - and of course all of the employees were.

In WalMart - I would guess about 20% of the folks were wearing masks....moms there with the kids - no masks.....older folks....no masks.....

So, I went to the dentist today for a teeth cleaning, and he didn't clean my teeth.

Why?

Because I wouldn't sign a long legal form that told of all the ways I could get the virus in his office.  Very scary.

So, I put off my cleaning until January.

I brush and floss several times daily; also use a strong mouth wash.

By January, I figure that this thing will be over, or we'll all be dead.

Well, we do have some reports of a second pandemic from swine flu coming our way. So, we could be doubling our fun.

DR George.  We had been using the Johns Hopkins covid site.  This one seems a bit simpler. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

Thanks, Jane.  I bookmarked it.

I've been feeling lucky, in that people here are consistently masking up in stores and offices. A lot of places have a sign saying you must have a mask on to enter, but I think it's the rule anyway.

As for the doctor or dentist.... that's bizarre. When I went in for my procedure last Friday, I'd already been advised to wear the mask, and that they would check my temperature at the door. And that was it. There was no other hassle.

The only papers I signed were their standard ones relating to the procedure.

I wore my mask yesterday at my eye appointment, and I'm pretty sure that I only signed the standard forms, also.

"Annie" was the first song I turned to when I got my book and sat down to play through some of it. What I should do is sit down and properly learn the whole thing. I know a couple of gals who would sing the hell out of "Annie" and probably a few others.

Edit:  Also, how fascinating would it be to introduce them to that song in particular, because these are good singing actresses with plenty of familiarity with Annie, but there's no way they would ever have heard of any of this.

Do it.  I'd love for some adventuresome kid to do the whole show.

Ended up ordering from Stanley's - I'm still having nightmares from the other day's meal fiascos.  I'll save the lobster roll for the weekend.  I was going to order from Carny's and get a cheeseburger and a hot dog and fries, but the calorie count for my grilled chicken pasta is less than that, so why not.

Should be here in about thirty minutes, I should think.  Ordered via postmates as they're still on their free delivery.

I don't think I signed any extra papers today at the doctor's office.  I did have my temperature taken when I entered the building and was told to use hand sanitizer......

So I stopped to get gas this afternoon, and it was SO WEIRD because it felt like I was relearning all the steps.

I have a spreadsheet for tracking my mileage and a few other little things, and when I entered today's gas purchase it told me it had been one hundred and four days since I'd last filled the tank. Three and a half months.

I'm afraid these adventuresome kids are more like 21 or 22 years of age, which as I recall wouldn't be appropriate for some of the book. But there are some very talented high schoolers around here. Have to keep that in mind.

I am hoping my friend Stephanie whose daughter played our Annie in 2018 looks at the YouTube video of Sami singing the song.

Emery is a bit on the youngish side - but she could grow into the show.

I cleaned the dinner dishes - mine and the cats - and took a hot bath.  Annabelle came in and talked to me, mostly about the fact that she wanted her night-time treat, and she refuses to listen when I point out that she's nearly 90 minutes early.  As soon as I stepped out of the tub, she and Thatch both ran to their scratching posts to sharpen their claws as a reminder to me that they want their treat.

Today is the birthday of my British conductor friend Martin Yates.  The orchestration that I was working on for the past three months was a gift to thank him for the work over the past couple of years.  The nice thing is that it will be delivered today to his home in France.

That's great, Larry!

A great present.
