....a "plethora of onions" must equate, somehow, with a "murder of crows."

So THAT explains all the dead birds outside our office!?!    ;)

Question for Jrand and MBarnum:  Have either of you ever seen the original movie in 3-D?

One of the TV stations in Indianapolis aired 3-D movies a couple of times back in the early 1980s.  You could get 3-D glasses at 7-11s and other stores.

I quite enjoyed it!

You didn't ask me, but I have a story.

Back in the early 1980s when studios were cranking out a new wave of 3-D movies, some of the old ones started being reissued for daytime and midnight showings.

I went to a midnight showing of CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON in 3-D, and it was just wonderful. I never dreamed I'd get to see any of the old 3-D films in a theater since they hit right before I was old enough to go to the movies alone, but I got to see HOUSE OF WAX, DIAL 'M' FOR MURDER, GORILLA AT LARGE, and CREATURE in theatrical 3-D. (I kept hoping KISS ME KATE or HONDO would be brought back, but neither was.)

I caught this on TBS (or Universal or HBO???) in HD a couple of weeks ago. I laughed really hard.  I highly recommend it for its parody on NASCAR stereotypes.  None of it is meant to be taken seriously at all.

I agree. I howled at much of it. Of course, having grown up in the heart of NASCAR my whole life, the mentality kind of comes with the territory even if one isn't a fan.

I'm on earlier this afternoon than usual because I have a guest arriving at 5, and I didn't want to be upstairs on the computer when he arrives.

I spent all afternoon watching more episodes of HUMAN GIANT. Continues to make me laugh a lot. The three comedians are really funny guys taking on a lot of ricidulous characters, and I'm enjoying these episodes so much. Rob Huebel is also very cute.

I forgot to mention tonight on TV also is the IDOL results show at 8. I'll be recording and speeding through to get to the announcements at the half hour and the end of the show.

I've been slaving over a hot lyric all morning - I've finished it, but will probably have to redo the last couple of lines.  Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it.

Now I must proof, but the first question is whether to go out and have lunch and proof whilst lunching.  Otherwise, I'll have to bring food in.

And, now, a lull...

As for the Topic of the Day...

"The Brown Bunny" - The brown bunny of the title had little to do with the subject matter of the movie.  Alas, I knew that going into the theatre, but, sadly, that didn't stop me from going into the theatre.  A true case of curiosity killing the proverbial cat.  And that was truly one slow, agonizing, drawn out, boring(!) death.  OY!!!!!!!!

"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad.... World", on the other hand, truly lived up to it's title.

I've spent the last 45 minutes TRYING to order something from Screen Archives.

The Superman "Blue Box" was made available for pre-order at noon PST...and the site has been overwhelmed with hits.

I've gotten into my cart twice, and then "timed out."  I reached my checkout once, and then "timed out."  Now I am at my "log-in" prior to hitting "submit order."

Pray I don't bust a gut!

Not only that, DR Ron Pulliam, but I'll ALSO pray that you don't gust your butt!

I wonder if "Hail Mary" works in such circumstances?    ???

At least, in the NC-17 version.

Well, I doubt it earned an NC-17 for bad fashion sense.

I'll take anything I can get.  I've done the "last" step.  I've pressed "Confirm Order."

It's cogitating on that right now...for the last 7 or 8 minutes, actually.

Easter on the other hand I rationalized as a celebration of spring and bunnies.

And chickens! Don't forget the PEEPS!

der Brucer

When I was a tad, Easter was the time of giving live baby animals to young children to neglect to death. As I have previously reminisced, my folks didn't support the "neglect" routine and so were saddled with growing numbers of ducks, chickens, and rabbits.
