Hers is the gourmet recipe, since it uses the broiler, of course.

There was a BIG squirrel fight in my back yard earlier this morning over ownership of the Sunflower Seed crock.  Golden Boy won and Baby Boy lost some fur behind his neck.....  While they were fighting, Stealth Boy ran over and ate many Sunflower Seeds.

I have enough selection to keep the squirrels occupied - they are particularly fond on the corn ears I stick on a screw post on the retaining wall.

Did anyone really think that anything you post anywhere on the internet is still yours?

That's kinda like the privacy policy paper you get from the doctor with five pages of exclusions which pretty much says they will give anyone who asks your personal medical information.

Greek:

Avgolemono (Egg-Lemon Soup)
Spanakopita (Spinach-Feta Pie)
Horiatiki Salata (Village salad - cucumber, onion, tomato, olive, feta)

Lamb - any way

While in a local eatery in Athens I tried my "I'll have what he's having"  (pointing to another diner) ordering technique. The result was a delicious slab of warm-from-the-oven bread and a teaming bowl of curdled goat's mild.

Communication also paid a role while order game in a Berlin establishment -

I shall now be on my way to the editing room.  I'm running late because I was waiting to see if the rain would stop, but it's really coming down -

The deluge in the SoCal area has been a subject on the national news - flash floods, mus slides, etc. This morning's mess on the Glendale freeway was also depicted.

Any HHW reviewers finished with their Criterion RICHARD III disks......or were those left to others.

RICHARD III was not a recent release. I've been reviewing Criterions for two years (tomorrow) and that release was before my time. I bought RICHARD III for myself before I became a reviewer.

Now, if you want to talk the Criterion SHADOWS, well, that's a different story! ;D

It was very briskly windy at lunch, and I didn't wear a heavy enough jacket. Also, the restaurant had ceiling fans going, and I had to put my jacket back on because it felt chilly inside.

I spent all afternoon with HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL on Blu-ray. I hadn't watched it in several years, and a couple of things jumped out at me. There is much less music and dance in the first one than in the second and third entries. In an effort to top the first, there are more production numbers, and many of the characters get solo moments in the second and third films. In the first, only Vanessa Hutchens gets a real solo. There are only about seven songs in the first one.

But the one thing that all three movies have in common is combining song and dance with athletics, and the productions numbers that do that in all three movies are certainly highlights.

TAR:

We actually have hobnobbed with one contestant - The Reverend Mel White. It was just after he had left his closeted times as a ghost writer for Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, and was forming Soulforce - an activist gay rights organization. He was a featured guest at one of our Log Cabin National Conventions. Since he graduated from a Portland University, he was destined to have a bizarre future.

The visuals were wonderful on the Blu-ray, but the sound reflected the lower budget of the first film. It's basically a stereo mix with a couple of surround sequences (the basketball game and the final callbacks).

Still, glad now to have all three HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL films on Blu-ray with their widescreen pictures and lossless audio tracks.

This means I will have the evening to myself to watch what I please. I'm thinking of watching GHOST on Blu-ray disc. But it will depend on what kind of time I have since I'll want to start on CHUCK around 8:30 or so.

On my first tour in Italy (1973-75), I tried this approach one evening in a favorite ristorante when I opted to try something other than tortellini with meat sauce.  I pointed to what looked like meat loaf at another table and was told it was coniglio.  The waiter recommended it, too, and offered his compliments to  my choice.

It tasted a bit strange.  It had peas and potato pieces mixed into it.  Possibly carrots, too.

It wasn't the best meat loaf I'd ever tasted and thought it must be a cultural thing -- perhaps different spices were used in ground beef in Italy.

As it turns out, it was rabbit (loaf).

And it didn't taste just like chicken.

Happy Presidents' Day to all of our presidents.

And congratulations to Uncle Milly, who placed 37th in the "best president" ranking.

I forgot about the White Father/Son team!  They did pretty good.  Son Mike's film CHUCK & BUCK is a very strange indie film, and he was so good playing a man of limited intelligence, it's strange to see him act just like everyone else.

It's also weird to see an actor on TAR.....an actor that I have seen in movies.....it seems if if he's playing a part and not just a game.
