bk - There is an Admin option that would require "approval" for any new posters/board members - which would also include browsing the board...  -Just sayin'.

What, exactly, is the procedure for finding "today's column" with this new format?  Do I need to retain the old URL?

Yes, you can't get there from here anymore - and I doubt that will get fixed.  It's the usual address, www.haineshisway.com, AND the link at the end of the notes should now bring you to the new board.

So we won't be able to get to the Radio Show from here either. We will have to go from the Main Page.

Correct.

Do I have to name my avatar?

It was named when you uploaded it originally - just reselect it from the list - if you remember what you named it.  -Or just scroll through that list, it's practically an HHW Memory Lane!

I'll work on the avatar later.

They are actually predicting that today will be the last of the triple digit temperatures here in the Valley of the Sun!!  Hoorah and Hooray!   I have a feeling we may still have a few warm days here and there.  We usually have one or tow pop up around Halloween.

If you go to your Profile to re-select your avatar you have to go to Personalized Picture. If you know what the avatar is called you can scroll down to it and choose it and it should be full size. If you don't know you may be able to guess what it is from seeing the titles of various pictures. Also, as you highlight the avatar names they appear on the left in the size they will appear on the screen.

I've never seen Kathy Griffin do an impersonation of vixmom!

That's because vixmom is not yet in the public domain.

Look, this is new and improved software - yes, it changes some things and the look, and no, Bakalor won't go in and restore links to the notes and the radio show because he is just not doing that anymore - hopefully we'll get the Calendar and the Who's Online buttons back, as that's in preferences somewhere in the control panel, but if you see things in e-mail (a function I don't even know about on this site) or where your PMs, are, take a deep breath and just get used to the new deal, because there's no going back.  It happens whenever ANY site upgrades their software - Facebook just became the "new" Facebook - people hate it, violently, but they're not changing it back and everyone is just getting used to it in its new form.

Kerry, look at my post just above yours and I've explained, I hope, how to see the various avatars. You should log out and log in as your old self when you do it so you can attach that avatar to your old profile (or it may not have been removed from your old profile so you won't have to do anything).

Thanks!  Even though a lot of today was spent on it, it wasn't nearly as stressful as yesterday, because I was comfortable that the pro guy would be able to fix it.

Actually, DR Jose, I must have read it and paid it no mind at the time.  I always read your posts.

DR MBarnum, if you want to get bigger, eat the mushroom. One side will make you bigger.

I see avatars.  I see dead people.  But I don't see singdaw, dear reader Laura, Dan-the-Man, etc.

Yes, Sing said that this week he would not be around much in the evening because of singing for the Jewish holidays.

Dan the Man will probably be back tomorrow and who knows, Laura may pop in later.

Kerry, tell Laura to get her butt-cheeks back here and return as her old self  ;D

It worked.

I finally found my photo in the list. :)  Keith had looked and didn't see it either.

Thanks for all the help.
