It's officially official now (we kind of knew but got confirmation in this morning's paper):  tomorrow's TAR finale is in little ol' PDX.

Woooohooooooooooooo!

Which makes me wonder--were Starr and Nick that weird couple I sent to the wrong side of the Willamette in early summer?  :)

Please, don't anybody waste their vibes on this minor development, but I just knew that you would all be thrilled to know that my MRSA has returned.

evryone was really lovely though  and the insision on my chest is only about an inch long - it feels like I have a little 1 inch square box under my skin.. but it cannot be seen only felt.

I feel good but a little tired, probably due to the generic Vicodin substitute the Dr sent home with me  -

Saturday afternoon greetings!  I have just completed teaching Grantseeking Basics for the last time!  Even if I weren't retiring, I'd probably revamp our program offerings - only teach this 3-hour tour de force quarterly and intersperse some shorter, more focused classes.  12 hearty souls ventured out on this snowy morning, including the person who will be my successor.  She starts here a week from Monday, giving us a week together.

Hi, DR Vixmom!  I wanted to tell you how impressed I was with the poised and articulate update The Vixter provided here last night.  You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers.

DR Vixmom, you were smart to send Vixdad to work.  I would have done the same, in fact when I had surgery a number of years back I sent Keith to the gym.  He felt he shouldn't go until the nurse & doctor insisted he do so.

From what I have been told you will be very grateful for the implants.  My friend recently went through the radiation & said it was easy.  I've heard that a number of times, may it be so for you.

I will be seeing my doctor on Monday morning.  I am not taking any chances seeing the Quack I saw last time.

This morning I received an absolutely beautiful arrangement of flowers signed, "from all my children".  That is soooo sweet.  In such a short time I'm going from two children to four-kind of fun.

Ginny, are you having a big retirement dinner?  Or a tea?  Or possibly a kegger?

My department is having a reception for me on Dec. 15.  It will be in the Auditorium where I do most of my programs and we've invited the entire Library staff as well as some of my nonprofit contacts from the outside.
