I went to Mass this afternoon and had to say "Peace be with you" and shake hands with a woman who was coughing into her hand all through the service.  I'm glad I keep sanitized wipes in the glove compartment of my car...

I noticed they had pumps of hand sanitizer set up on both sides of the altar for the lay people who gave out communion.

I'm going to suggest that they put hand sanitizer into the holy water finger dip bowls.

And now for a Christmas song...

Have a Halle Berry Christmas
It's the best time of 'em all
Make a wish
To see SWORDFISH
Along with MONSTER'S BALL

...that's as far as I got...

Jose, when you say "subway grate," where does said "business" drip? On the subway tracks, or on the people underground, or where?

All of the above.  Or below, as the case may be.

Thankfully, most of the subway grates are also set up as storm drains, so that no water - or other liquids (or solids :-\) - falls onto the tracks or passengers.  It all goes into the sewer system.  -But there are a few stations where it sometimes "rains" inside the station even though it's not raining outside the station.  -Yeah, I know, gross and TMI.

*In other words, when waiting for a train at 50th Street, it's always best to stand away from the tracks. ;)

*I can't tell if that site allows hot-linking - is that pic showing up?  Or is it another DR George picture? ;)

I missed our christmas eve service. They have all been cancelled because of the storm.  Our church is still having the 11:00 pm service but the choir is cancelled and they don't expect anyone to be there. It's broadcast on the local cable and the minister lives next door to the church, so he said he'd go and people should stay home and watch on tv

Mom and Dad and I opened our gifts tonight.  It was nice.   I'm starting to go a bit stir crazy though.   I don't like to be away from the girls this long and I may not get out of here until Sunday

Lovely photos DR LAURA.

I am one of the lay people, but not as often as I would like to be.

Getting tired here, too.
Will probably need to wait for tomorrow to read reports about the DO.

Have a wonderful night, everyone.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.

I finished my evening watching STAR! Since I've had Gertrude Lawrence and LADY IN THE DARK on my mind a lot while reading that book over the course of the last week, I wanted to watch this again. Didn't quite have enough time to see the whole thing, but I got Gertie married to Richard Aldrich before I had to close up shop.
Sounds like you saw the whole film.

They get married right before the end credits. The rice is thrown they get in the car. They talk, credits appear, the end

RE: BEN BAGLEY'S PAINTED SMILES

If it can help anyone, I own the complete set of the Ben Bagley CD's including the two titles they lost control of as BB did not produce them, only distributed them. (Mostly Mercer & The Grass Harp)  BK should be able to fil in the blanks about the latter

Greetings one and all

Merry Christmas to one and alll from Wisconsin. After a 13 hour trip to Stevens Point, WI and taht included an hour in the ditch about 20 miles from our destination courtesy of a semi truck.

We had decent driving until we got on the east side of St. Cloud and we hit freezing sleet and snow... It took us two hours to get through the cities.

WE did go have a very nice supper tonight at a local restaurant that served roasted goose. It was quite good.

The weather up here is not pretty at all. We had freezing rain in this part of Wisconsin.

I wanted to stop by and extend holiday greetings.
