I'm enjoying the 3D broadcasts on my new 3D TV. Natural history films look wonderful - it's just like looking out of an open window. I was watching a programme about meerkats which look so real, you feel you can reach out and touch them.

Zach and I have been laughing all morning about a moment on last night's 60 Minutes.  As some of you know, we have a very heavily involved autistic nephew (Zach's cousin), and Betsy's brother is an internationally famous researcher of dietary solutions to autism, so we have the "right" to laugh about this, but last night there was a segment on iPad apps for autistic kids, and there was this one moment of a teacher asking an autistic kid if he wanted to work, and the kid even before the teacher could finish the sentence, pressed the "No" button about 25 times in less than five seconds, with the robo-voice saying, "No, no, no, no, no, no. . ."  :)

That's cute.

From Laura:
Quote
Today we saw The Spitfire Gill at the local theater. Afterwards we celebrated with ice cream because Lilah and her bunch were not there. Again. We thought the first time they may have given away their tickets, but after today, we know they did not renew. We won!

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D Congrats on winning!

You might want to explain this to our newest DR's. ;)

At our local theater, a group of friends was spit up on either side of us (we have had the tickets since DR Sandra was in junior high). Lilah, the loudest of them, demanded at almost every show that I move down so they could all sit together. Now, if asked nicely, I might have done so. However, she did not ask -- she demanded. I declined. This went on for several years.

I am gobsmacked department:  Read in Variety this morning that Baz Luhrman is preparing a 3D version of The Great Gatsby with Leonardo di Caprio for Christmas 2012 release.

If I had an iPad right now, I would be repeatedly hitting the "No" button.

There is quite a battle going on between Joshie and a shoelace. I think Joshie will win.

Did the four-mile jog, then did some banking, then picked up two packages, then had a quick sandwich.  I shall now try and get some writing done before this little meeting at six-ish.

Today my brother had to be in Sioux City for business, so he brought mom and dad with him and after a lunch with all of them, I took mom and dad shopping.  My mother loves to shop.  REALLY loves to shop, so it was a great day.  She may be 84, but keeping up with her when she's shopping is not an easy task, lol.  We had a great time and I was glad I took the extra day off to spend time with them

I can't make DVD's or I would make you one.  What do you think of the cast?

I found out today that in the note on our door, instead of telling people to leave a message, Edith told them to leave a massage.  I heard it's been the laugh of the building while we were gone, lol.

Actually, I think that THE GREAT GATSBY may be the first role that Mr. di Caprio is truly suited for since WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE.

DR ELMORE - I did not watch ONCE UP ON A TIME.....since it was on opposite THE AMAZING RACE!!

And NBC has the exact same type of series starting this week called GRIMM.....so much for creativity.  Did you watch it?  What did you think?

I watched most of ONCE UPON A TIME last night.  I missed the first ten minutes or so due to sports conflicts.  I enjoyed the show and I might follow it for a time to see where it takes us.  However, the little boy in the show I would love to slap the snot out of him.

Perhaps as the pool. The shallow end.

I was suckered into buying a box of Frosted Red Velvet Cookies at Safeway this afternoon.  They are okay, but the only similarity to Red Velvet is the color of the cookie.

I liked him. I kept wondering why the evil queen had adopted him. Since he's Pinocchio, why isn't he living with Gepetto?

.........the wicked queen who's the mayot of Storybrook might since she's evil incarnate, even though their current lives mirror their fantasy ones. The cast is game and good. I wish it well.

Elmore, the queen was indeed wicked, but I would hardly call her a mayot.

I can't help but feel that ONCE UPON A TIME is a rip-off of the DC Vertigo Comic series FABLES that has been running for almost ten years.

I think the big difference between the two is that the characters if ONCE UPON A TIME have no idea who they were in their previous existance.
