DR DearReaderLaura - Have you ever submitted your photos to Parade or to a local newspaper?  I swear, it's almost like the animals pose for you.

And salt was actually the missing "note" in the batch of collards I just cooked up.  I was afraid the smoked turkey necks that I used in my base would be salty, but, apparently they weren't.  So, after a nice dash of kosher salt over the  braised greens... Yum!  :)

There is a ham seasoning on the market from Goya that is just fantastic cooked with collards.

OY!

I don't want is funnier/sadder:

-Dr. Phil trying to help Britney Spears.
-A Hollywood psychic offering advice to Britney Spears.
or
-Donald Trump "warning" Britney Spears that she's going down the same path that Anna Nicole Smith did.

OY! and VEY!

Lovely photos, DR LAURA!!!

And now......a DVD announcement.

January 22, 2008, S'More Entertainment will give us:

MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY/THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW Season Six

Hopefully it won't be the syndicated, chopped up, edited versions that Questar released as Season Five a couple of years ago.

Season Six of course featured Miss Annette Funicello in her first work away from the Disney Studio as a friend of Terry Williams, exchange student Gina Manelli.  Annette sings on several episodes and dances as well....

I watched a couple of the presentations on the pretaped and no audience People's Choice Awards.  And it was one of the worst things I have ever seen.  Whew!

I've done eight pages today, which sort of makes up for the two that I did yesterday.  I think I'm through for the day, unless I do some cleanup later.

Well, not exactly local. The owl and the cranes are in  Cibola Wildlife Refuge (south of Blythe, CA), and the geese are in Sonny Bono Wildlife Refuge (near Brawley, CA).

Oh, crimelibrary.com is great! I used that when I was researching Victorian era killers for the haunted house I worked at.

I have had the song "Bang" by Stephen Sondheim going through my head all day!  It has the lines:

Bang
Foray at the elbow
Salvo at the knee
Bang
Fusillades at breast
And thigh

*However, the original location of Patsy's in East Harlem is just two subway stops and a five block walk away.  ;)

Is that anywhere near the Apollo Theater?  Bryan will be interviewing with a D.O. school near the theater.

Well, the Apollo Theatre is as 235 125th Street, between Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell (7th Ave.) Blvds.  Patsy's is at 2287 1st Ave between 117th and 118th Streets.  So... About six long blocks west and seven blocks north.  A "nice" walk, or a $5.00-6.00 cab ride.  :)

-There's a D.O. school in that area?

Hi all!  Can't stay long but just wanted to drop by.

The news of the day is that next week I'm going to start Weight Watchers.  I've really packed on the pounds here lately and it's time to do something about it.

I found a meeting place close to work that meets from 1-2.  I'll just work till 5 that day so I can go to the meeting.

...Although, if he walks south on Frederick Douglass Blvd. a couple of blocks, he can check out "Les Ambassades", a great Senegalese-French bistro and bakery.  :)
