DR Jane - OUCH!

Sometimes it is touch being a woman.  I did manage to get it off before I feinted from the pain. ;D

DR George, that doesn't sound like fun.  At least you didn't use a home, cold, waxing kit.  I don't think they even sell those anymore, and for good reason.

NO WAXING!!!  That is NOT an option!!

LOL-That's good.  Actually heated wax is ok.

Thanks for the vibes.  Now I'm worried I'll catch what Keith has; fever, chills, a dry bronchial sounding cough, muscle aches.=-oh my.  Vibes to my guy.   I really don't like the sound of the cough.

Vibes to Jane, for her hand, and Keith, for his illness.  Sounds like what I had and it's NO FUN.

Quite a holiday day today in Tomovoz land...

Labour Day  [in Tasmania]
Commonwealth Day [in Victoria]
Eight Hours Day [??]

Labour Day in Victoria and Tasmania (It was called 8 hours day at one time)

Commonwealth day - NOT.

(I think May 24th may have been renamed Commonwealth day - it was "Empire Day".  The day is still celebrated in Canada I think).

We celebrate May 24 for DP Colin's birthday.

Gorgeous day out. I didn't even need a jacket although my friend wore one. It's cooler inside my house that outside today.

The bonus features on the second disc of ANTONIO GAUDI were voluminous. And several of the programs were an hour or more in length, so I just barely got finished with them before heading upstairs.

Since the movie is not a documentary at all of the architect but rather a mood piece on his designs, I was grateful there were two really good biographical/travelogue pieces about him and his work on the second disc - both BBC programs. One was produced and directed by Ken Russell, one of his artist documentaries he was so famous for before becoming a feature film director.

I did have enough time left this afternoon to speed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No Luke and Noah and they're not in the previews for tomorrow either.

So, in the mail today, I got the three BOURNE films on HD-DVD (on fire sale at Amazon and ended up costing me about $8.50 for each movie; amazing.)

I'll be watching the third one tonight on HD-DVD (the only one I didn't see in the theater). This is the one that won three Oscars a couple of weeks ago so I'm very eager to see it.

I doubt I've ever seen the shows.

I do like the Manhattan Transfer's song.

Be patient - the fans are riding to the rescue:

It has been more than 160 days since “Nuke’s” lips met onscreen, but “As The World Turns,” producers are watching the media attention fans have generated. Tharrington declined several invitations to share upcoming plot lines, but she asked that fans have faith.

“I can’t give away the whole story, but I can say tune in to see how life and love develops for Luke and Noah,” she says.

The sights of kissing/lovemaking I can be very patient with (though I still think it's absurd to think hormonal college guys aren't going to be jumping in the sack at every opportunity).

It's the hackneyed storylines they involve the couple in that seem ridiculous.

'bout time for me to sign off here and head to the AAUW-Middletown book sale site.  The others are gathering there now for a soup supper and sorting session for this weekend's book sale.  I'll get there about an hour late, but they told me they'd keep the soup warm for me!

Bye for now!

Here's something fun that Richard just emailed to me:

Subject: Retirement Choices

Where to Live After Retirement
...You can live in Florida where...
...4. Road construction never ends anywhere in the state. ...
So, does this mean that any production of TBFOS had better be directed by someone other than BK?

I also want my hour of sleep back; actually I want my entire night of sleep I missed returned to me.  While I was walking yesterday a neighbors dog ran up and smashed her head up into my left hand (oh, the joys of being loved so much).  My hand was slightly bent so she got my knuckles and jarred up through the wrist and forearm.  I’m better this morning & the swelling in my finger has gone done, but my fingers, hand, wrist & forearm sure ached last night.

Darn, I’m so tired I completely forgot I left a pot of basmati on the stove to boil.  Since I’m running the dryer I didn’t hear it boiling over.  As I walked into the kitchen I smelled it burning.  I fear I have ruined a good pot.

Jane, I'm beginning to get concerned about all these dogs running into you and causing you injury. Soon you will have to wear football pads whe you go out walking

The Dell technician came to the office today and installed a new motherboard in my good laptop. Wow! Not only has it stopped the shorting out thing it was doing but it's working a lot better.  Glad I had the warranty.

What's this fuss about the governor being involved in a prosecution ring?  Isn't that a good thing, I mean he's an ex-prosecutor...

No. Miss Litella, that's a prostitution ring

Regarding yesterday's phone exchange discussion, ours was EMerson 2-. I, too remember party lines- we didn't have one but I had farm friends who had them and we used to pick up and listen to people talk when we were kids - calling our own number and hanging up to make the phone ring.  We used to be terrible brats playing on the phone....
