Glad to hear about Cilla's good visit and her mom's improvement.

Also, that Vixmom's arm seems to be OK. I must have missed the post.

TOD:
While in high school I saw a blatant example of the TV news media manipulating the news. I read the NY Times and find it trustworthy. I also trust most of what I've seen on PBS. But while searching the news recently for details about the local damage I was appalled at some of the stories I saw online. Very sketchy and poorly written. I know that poor writing doesn't mean a story's untrue, but I'm less likely to find it credible.

I'm not as critical of politicians in general as some. I feel there are good ones and bad ones. What gets me if when people KNOW that someone is corrupt and they still vote for them! I'm thinking now of Rep Duncan Hunter of San Diego, who stole campaign funds and used them for  vacations for his family. And yet he was reelected. He's now in jail, along with his wife.

Around the 'hood:

I went to Whole Foods Market today. No line at 2 pm. Plenty of TP on the shelves. I was shocked!

The nearby restaurants that I frequent have reopened, but business is VERY slow. Some thought that people would rush back, but that isn't the case from what I've seen, even at trendy spots with a young clientele.

Speaking of TP, I'm trying out TP made from bamboo, no trees at all. I love the concept. Bamboo is so prolific, it grows like a weed and it difficult to get rid of. Plus, even when conventional TP is sold out, the bamboo variety is often still available. That alone is a reason to try it. So far so good. Not as soft as what I usually choose, but not bad at all. Definitely an acceptable substitute.

DR George gets the award for Most Creative Mask! I'd never seen one like that! Is it comfortable to wear? Can you actually breathe?

Nice to know about the bamboo TP in case I ever need it.  I do love clothing & towels made from bamboo.  I would like to try sheets made from it.

I've never tried bamboo towels, clothing, or sheets. What is it you like about them, aside from saving trees?

I've never had the bad battery experiences that BK mentioned. I've had good experiences at both Pep Boys and a local gas station. Neither overcharged and both gave good service. I don't recall taking my car to a dealer for this.

Vibes BK's car is fixed pronto!

It's highly processed and looks just like conventional TP.

I saw some bamboo towels that can be used in lieu of paper towels, but they can be washed and reused repeatedly. Not thick like a bath towel, much thinner. I haven't tried them.

I really like that idea, too!  I actually have a shirt made of bamboo. :)

They are soft and I like the feel of the fabric.

The bath towels are a mix of bamboo & cotton.

"Modern clothing labeled as being made from bamboo is usually viscose rayon, a fiber made by dissolving the cellulose in the bamboo, and then extruding it to form fibres. This process removes the natural characteristics of bamboo fibre, rendering it identical to rayon from other cellulose sources."
