We had a good day at World of Wisdom.....and now I am OFF until next Friday which is a good thing.

My father has his doctor's appointment on Monday, so hopefully they can do something about the recurrent bleeding - we shall see.

DR TCB - I think Miss Debbie Reynolds was dubbed in that particular part of SITR because the dubber's voice sounded closer to Jean Hagen's speaking voice.....it was Jean's voice that was used for Debbie in the scenes of Lina's talking being dubbed by Kathy.

And speaking of dubbing - always reminds me of the story that was reported when Miss Rosalind Russell's autobiography was publishes and she claimed to do ALL of her singing in GYPSY.

When an enterprising reporter called up Lisa Kirk and asked her about it, Lisa said:  "Well, then I guess Jack Warner sent me all those checks just because he's such a nice guy."

The original soundtrack of GYPSY that was released several years ago had a Russell's tracks and some of Wood's as well.....it was interesting to hear.  And the amalgamation of both actresses (and some Rose Marie for good measure) that was used in the "Rose's Turn" in the movie had never been released....the LP was almost all Kirk, I think......

And I did all my own singing in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, much to DR Elmore's chagrin.  He liked my singing much better in The Fantasticks.

DR Kevin just left after a very nice evening of chat and camaraderie. Here's proof that he was here.

He decided not to see a show after all. He came back to the apartment and we had a very nice visit.

There is much medical talk and discussion going on in my living room.....sounds like I have wandered into an episode of Marcus Welby.

I did most of my own dancing in IT'S A LONG WAY TO CERTIORARI in law school.  I had a dance stand-in for the ROUTE 66 number, where the dance routine was simply beyond my abilities, so a nice fellow name of Jay stepped out of the chorus to do my dancing for me.  :)

Why they didn't simply replace me as a featured singer in that number remains a mystery.

Speaking of singing, or perhaps singing of speaking, FJL I just sent you an exciting parlor game for your evening's amusement.

I'm back to my hotel after a busy and enjoyable day!

As DR Ben mentioned I went to see "On a Clear Day" (yes, again, DR TCB!)  I really like the score and the performances.

I had a most enjoyable dinner with Ben and Anthony and went back to their apartment for delicious cookies and liquid refreshment (Sprite) and fun conversation.  They were the perfect hosts, as always!

And... I'm truly exhausted after today. And since I'm hoping to get the rest of my packing done tomorrow morning before the closing matinee, well...

Goodnight.

Had a great night dancing. Now, a little sleep.

I'm afraid, Ginny, they would have to dub my singing even if I were playing the Mute in "The Fantastiks."

Oy and vey what a day.  No time to jog, spent ninety minutes finessing, only wrote one new page and then it was time for the stumble-through, then went to dinner, then had to go back in the chapter I'm in and add eight new pages because I finally got my chronology correct and something that wasn't making sense to me finally made sense.  Very frustrating, but it resulted in good stuff but I only wrote half of what I normally do.  Then I saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which was long, and now I'm finally home and going to take at least the next forty-five minutes to write whatever I can.  I'd stay up later but it's show day tomorrow and must get a good night's sleep.  Once the show is done, I will only be concentrating on book matters and liner notes.
