Some DRs will know the UK band "The Shadows" from the movies  "The Young Ones" and "Summer Holiday".

"The Upper Crust" is the name of a local food shop here. (Pizza etc).
(Upper Beaconsfield being the name of the village)

Yes, indeed! Auditions for 5 shows today and I had a great time with my friends Bob Bartley, whom I've not seen in over 10 years and who's directing THE FAMILY FIORELLI, Michael Dansicker, who's working on ROLLER DERBY, and Patrick Shields who's producing THE BEASTLY BOMBINGS.  I have no idea what the 5th show was!

We saw 180+ people, many of whom were quite wonderful, several who refused to acknowledge that the key they wanted to sing in was not necessarily the same the accompanist was using, and several who appeared to have never learned the melodies of their music.

I'm tired.

DR JANE - I watched almost 3/4 of the show, but didn't like the sitcom type A story/B story writing that was going on.....  Especially since I had just watched the rerun of the previous week's tense and well written episode.

Orson Bean was just olive on the ice cream.....his admission of murder and all the angst that went along with it was revealed to be a red herring that meant nothing in the long run....  Sloppy writing.

As long as the time of my DVD does not exceed the space on the disk, I can make DVD's on my computer.

Thanks to DR DtM who mentioned Nero.....

Session is not only swimming along now, but we've actually gained time so I decided to overdub the violins on a second pass, so we've now got twelve violins instead of six - sounds ever so much better.

Our internet connection at work was wonky and I was unable to log off from here before leaving.  Wonder if just logging out of the work network logged me out?  It's a mystery.

DR Jane - thank you for the update on Danise.  I'd been thinking about her on my way to work this morning.

PARIS AIMS TO SEDUCE LONDONERS

Quote
Paris invades London for the second time.

Following last year's campaign to attract Londoners to Paris, the Regional Tourism Committee of Paris Ile-de-France has once again called upon a French agency, to launch a new ad campaign in Britain's capital. The campaign is composed of two ads :

The second ad uses offbeat wit and the Rugby World Cup to show the world that Paris is also the capital of humour. The Paris region will be hosting several World Cup matches, including the final at the Stade de France.

BK did a wonderful job playing Otis and Grig in the NYMF reading co-presented by the Village Theater last year

HURRAH HURAHH!!! The Vixter is so excited that she is joyfully dancing around the house!!!

I did indeed bring Ye Olde Laptop and they do indeed have Ye Olde Wireless, so here I am.  This will be fun - live, on location.  Haven't been to this studio since Nudie Musical - it's quite different.  We're not in the same studio, but right next to it.

We recorded our score with Van Dyke Parks at Cello Studios. I heard it has been torn down, which makes me sad...  :'(

Humour?  That isn't what I got from the ad.

DR MBarnum does have some recordings by The Shadows - the most successful instrumental group ever in the UK - a pop career spanning 40+ years.

Hank Marvin, on the right of the pic. now lives in Perth Western Australia.
All these men are in their sixties - too young for DR MBarnum.

Is that the same The Shadows group that performed with Cliff Richard?

I wonder when we will have an announcement from FJL of hopefully very good news?

Also, does anyone know what part BK did in THE LAST STARFIGHTER last year?

I wondered which part, too. And I saw that it is listed on the NYMF website, so...

I mentioned STARFIGHTER to one of my clients and he said he probably watched that 50 times when he was a young sprig of a twig of a lad. (Well, he didn't exactly say it that way, but you know what I mean...)

An insight from our chef---he say the key is making your own mayonaisse, with garlic. Also fresh grated parmesan...
