Walking pneumonia can be either bacterial (in which case the anti-biotics should have worked) or viral, in which case the antibiotics are useless. Did your Doc do any cultures to determine which kind you had?

I did have to mail a package. Thanksfully, I didn't have to take it inside to be weighed or stamped. The cloud cover returned, and it is very cold out. I don't think it got anywhere near the 52 the forecasters were saying we'd get to today.

While I cooked and ate lunch, I watched an episode of PLANET EARTH on Blu-ray - "Deserts." What magnificent photography and educational, too. No wonder these sets continue to sell well and rank high on sales charts this season. They're just excellent entertainment.

Then, continuing on Blu-ray, I put in THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT Part II. As with the first film, not all of the clips look good in high def (black and white tends to look grainier though Sinatra's "I Believe" from IT HAPPENED IN BROOKLYN didn't look grainy at all.)

As in the first film, the HIGH SOCIETY clips really looked excellent in high def, and I also thought some of the EASTER PARADE clips, "I Like Myself" from IT'S ALWAYS FAIR WEATHER, and "I Remember It Well" from GIGI looked superb. (Strangely, the clips from GIGI in the first TE didn't look that great in HD). And also, once again, every time they blow up an Academy ratio movie to widescreen proportions, the HD causes the sharpness to go away, and the grain structure is revealed. The Esther Williams/Cypress Gardens finale from EASY TO LOVE is ruined due to this, and ANNIE GET YOUR GUN looks washed out, too, with this treatment.

I watched two of the bonus features on the disc thus far. The Robert Osborne introduction only lasts 4 minutes, but there's a 37 minute documentary on the people behind the scenes (producers, conductors, choreographers, directors) that I enjoyed. (Of course, to do justice to these talented people, they deserve more than 3 or 4 minutes each. Roger Edens could have his own documentary.)

And actually, even though it's not embossed, I did write my phone number on the back of the tag with a Sharpie pen. As I was taking the pictures last night, I was thinking that I could actually scratch the number on the tag.

POLICE: SAN FRANCISCO TIGER ATTACK MAY HAVE BEEN PROVOKED

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Zoo was closed to visitors Wednesday as police investigated a tiger attack they say may have been provoked by visitors' taunting the animal, leaving one man dead and two brothers injured.

Police searched the zoo to ensure there were no others injured and no more animals out of their cages after the Christmas day attack in which the 300-pound tiger, Tatiana, escaped its cage.

One witness said at least one of the victims had provoked the tiger, which had been out of its cage an estimated 15 to 20 minutes, police said. Tatiana also ripped the flesh off a zookeeper's arm just before Christmas 2006.

Doesn't take long to blame the victim, does it!
